For one particular entry on my CR, there is *only* the CA reporting. When I called them, they sent me 3 separate Dunning notices, one for the amount on my CR. The rep said they automatically delete if I PIF - his manager said she wouldn't / couldn't do it in writing because they do this stuff through letters their lawyers have already crafted. She also said that they weren't already reporting and that they hadn't sent me anything about the debt yet and that because of that, if I paid within 30 days of receiving them, it wouldn't be reported in the first place (I was arguing with her about that because I had called because of an item *ON MY CREDIT REPORTS*). I have since contacted the OC (not reporting) to ask about paying / how much / who to pay. The OC gave me a single total that coincides with the sum of the 3 totals from the CA, and an address and phone number separate from the CA. Am I right in thinking that I can pay the OC and they will pull back the debt from the CA (so the CA cannot continue to report it)?

I just found these forums and am so excited to get started on my credit rebuilding journey! Long story short, my husband and I spent our college years opening credit cards and not making on-time payments. We closed everything down in 2005 when we got married and started making payments through a credit management agency and made our last payment this month. I then pulled our credit reports and was a bit disheartened to see that our scores were 548 and 530. There were 3 collections accounts for small outstanding bills (2 through afni, which I paid yesterday) and 1 which was paid off in 2005 but subsequently sold to a collections agency (Asset Acceptance LLC) who claims that I owe them $2500, and which is scheduled to remain on record until July of 2010. We currently have no open credit cards.

I have 3 collection accounts that I recently paid in full without first negotiating them to delete after it was paid. This was a huge error on my part because I found this website the day after I paid these accounts. They are as follows: 1. RJM Acquisitions - paid in full $464.00 from 2005 overdraft account, just received a letter yesterday stating the account will be reported as paid in full .

I had a Lane Bryant credit card that I had inadvertently missed a payment on (it actually completely slipped my mind that I had a balance - I was paying in full), in June 2008. I had 3 TLs on my CRs from them - since my card has been with 3 different banks since it was started. The derogatory was with the previous bank. I GW'd the bank that had the card, sent a hard copy GW letter to another address I found for that bank, and I emailed the store through PFB. Now all three TLs are deleted, at least from Equifax - can I assume that a) my current, open credit card is now non-existent and b) that the deletion came from the store, hence all three TLs gone? (this didn't really adversely affect my AAoA, fortunately!)

1. So, I sent a CA 2 DV requests which were both returned as not deliverable. My 1st attempt I used the address the CA listed on my CR. The 2nd attempt was an address I found online. Here's the thing, this acct is old from 2005, I want this OFF. If I dispute with CRA, won't they use the CA's contact info on my CR and get no response just as I did? Then since it's unverifiable it will be deleted. OR will CRA use some stupid 3rd party database and it will get "verified" using their ghost MOV? I don't want to waste another 30 days. What is best? I would think contacting the CA via mail. 2. Sort of related question: what's up with EX using address ID #s for each TL? EX has about 20 addresses for me (more than half are incorrect variations of a correct previous address). If you try to dispute an address that's associated with one of these TLs they won't delete the address. Dispute anything about a TL it quickly comes back verified because of that address ID. To update the address, EX says contact the provider of the info (to update EX indirectly when the TL reports), but I'm not doing that! Anyone know how to update addresses with EX?? (I want to begin the HIPPA process, I need to clean this up 1st).

How long does it take for inquires to come off of reports? Is it possible to ask creditors to delete it?

I just received my Equifax report after looking at TU and EX. It is the only one that actually shows the DOFD on the accounts. I don't have any accounts showing on there with any balances due. I know some of them showed before, so I assume they came off. Can I expect that TU and EX are just slower taking them off and will they most likely come off soon, or should I try disputing these to try to get them off? Also, I have a car loan with a lot of 30,60 day lates. It is my longest TL though and it has now been almost two years since any activity. Is there anything I can do with a car loan? My thought is that I am going to get my CCs paid down. Right now they are almost maxed out because of recent activity, but I will get them lower shortly. So, I figure less than 6 months I will have them below 10% and check my report then to see what I can improve at that time with the other items. In the meantime I will GW and DV adn PFD on the accounts I know are not going to be past the 7 years soon.

Okay, sorry for those of you who have had to read my story previously. The deal is I had cable service through Charter at my previous residence about 3 years ago. Then, I hooked up service at my new residence in a different city after I moved. Charter says I owe $128 on my previous service, even though they hooked up new service when I moved, which they are saying is against their company policy. We say we were paid up, but it really doesn't matter. I'll pay the $128 to be rid of this thing. Here's the new problem - CMI is the CA that currently owns the account. They are reporting to all 3 CBs. However, Credit Protection Association is also reporting to Experian. I want to get this darn thing removed, but nothing's working out for me. I absolutely know that Charter can't help me, so that option is out. I e-mailed the CEO of CMI basically offering a PFD, and received an e-mail back from their attorney that says they're looking into the account, etc
