Good Afternoon, i am hoping someone can help me.
I have been trying to rebuild my credit and I have finally made some progress. I am sitting around 690 on all 3. I have been pre approved for a mortgage and was looking froward to buying in the next couple of months.

This morning i got a complete blow to everything.
I have credit monitoring with Equifax and i recieved an alert and it stated the following.

Suit or Judgment information has been added to or changed on your credit file.

Court/ Case Number:

AMERICREDIT of

Amount:  $7,014
Plaintiff:
Status:
Satisfied Date: N/A

This was an account i had before i divorced, it was a joint account. It was for an automobile loan, it was repossesed and it states its charged off.  Date opened, 6/2001, reported since 2/2004, date of status 1/2005, last reported 12/2010. Other information, says charge off as of Dec 2010, Jan 2005, 30 days past due as of Apr 2004- Oct 2004. Account is scheduled to continue on record until Oct 2011.

I never recieved a summons or anything, i haven’t heard anything and someone informed me becuase of statue of limitations i might be ok since its 4 years in Texas. I am worried sick becuase i am supposed to buy a home in a couple of months and i cannot with a judgment. I have tried to rebuild my credit since my divorce 5 years ago and i finally have and now this. I do not see it under public records in my credit report. Will it show up immediately. Please help. I’m so worried. I don’t even know what to do at this point.

Thanks

Can anyone tell me how accurate this credit simulator is on this website??  If I enroll in the FICO credit score report will it show a difference in the scoring than freecreditreport.com??  Which system do the loan companies use most?

Need student loan! But first want to know if it will go on my report even though i will be in school for 2 years!when will it show?

This morning I woke up to the knocking of a guy who served me with papers from Capital One. The only reason I stopped paying was because my hours were cut from the job I was working doing a during that time. I’m not sure if I called Capital One, but I called a couple of other credit card companies that I owed during that time and tried to make payment arrangements until I got back on my feet & the only company that was reasonable was Citibank. The others didn’t care at all & even though I’d been a paying customer for yrs they acted like I had to pay these high amounts steeped with interest fees or else. So I just stopped paying altogether b/c it was too stressful to think about.

Clearly avoiding the issue wasn’t the best idea because now I’m being sued. After doing a bit of research on this forum I’ve decided to confront this issue and file my answer & show up to court. A lot of people said to get all of your documents in order so that you can have a fighting chance. The amount Capital One is suing me for is almost $2600, which I’m sure I don’t owe b/c the limit was only around $1500 maybe less. But the problem is I’m not sure how much I owe exactly because when I first signed up for the card I went paperless & got all of my statements online. Now I don’t have access to the account information anymore b/c they locked it, so how can I be sure of how much I owe exactly? Will it show up on my credit report b/c I stopped paying on the card in Dec. 2008.

Also I am currently unemployed, and not receiving any income, is there anyway that I can avoid paying my court fee because I literally can’t afford it? Also if I’m still unemployed or if I’m not making a lot of money when I actually go to court & will the judge take this into account if he rules that I have to pay? For instance will he give me a payment plan that I can actually afford?

I have 2 accounts that are with collections.  They say open on the Equifax but closed on Trans and Exp.  Which is correct?

And I am paying monthly on 2 bills before they got to collections.. will it show I am paying each month on time or no?

Will it show up the same time it is removed or could it take longer for the change in score?

My husband was in default on student loans, but we have been paying since last March/April on time so I called today to see about getting them out of default status. The lady said that he will have a letter going out either today or tomorrow that just needs signed and returned. As long as it is returned by the due date they will show them all as current (this is all through the NC education authority, if that matters). Right now it show 7 collection accounts for the student loans, and I’m not entirely sure what to expect. Will it wipe out all the negatives? Will it show current now but still show a bunch of old lates? I wonder how long it’ll take to hit the credit report.
