I sent the initial Hippa letter to Equifax and Experian as these were the only 2 reporting collection accounts that were paid.

I sent one to Equifax that they were reporting on my credit report and it now shows deleted.

However,  I sent 3 letters in one envelope for my wifes credit report and only one is showing up on her credit file as being investigated.  Did I **bleep** up when I sent them all in one envelope or what should I do now?

Also, sent the same letters to Experian and they are not reporting disputes on any of them.  What should I do?

All letters were sent out on 1-20-11 and signed for by 1-24-11

Any help would be appreciated.

I am currently fighting with my wife’s bank (credit union) over an old credit card she had with them.  She had opened the card before we were together and they gave her a $500 limit.  She had them set it up to autopay from her checking account with them as well as an auto loan and a personal loan she had.  All was well with the payments it was making but shortly after we were together she got a late notice.  She called to find out why and they said they see the payment was made and not to worry.  So this happened again a few months later and then ultimately it went 30 days late.  Her other two loans (auto and personal) both were still being paid without a problem via autobill.  So we called to try to get it cleared up and they said they see a payment was made even though my wife didn’t manually submit a payment.  This whole charade continued a few more times (and we later found out reporting 30 day late several times on her CR) and finally resulted in them issuing a letter that they were cancelling the card.  The balance at the time was a bit under $500 because she had just used it for a purchase.  We tried to call them to again to find out why if they were auto paying it, it was being paid late and were passed around from person to person.  We both took an afternoon off of work to go to the head office and was told the person we needed to speak to wasn’t there (they suggested we come down!).  We both worked and it was hard to play phone tag with these people and after countless phone calls, no answers and promises that the correct person would return our calls, her card continued to rack up $25 late fees and $25 over the limit fees.

Here we are 5 years later and still fighting this.  We’ve both called more times than we can count at this point.  I had offered in the very beginning to just pay the entire card in full if they would remove the few 30 day lates since THEY were supposed to be making the auto pay.  Now that the balance is nearly $1200 we find out that the reason all of these years those payments were mysteriously being made is because the collections person at the bank was going in and making a withdraw from my wifes checking account!  They are trying to say her balance and limit all along was $1k (even though I have her past statements that prove otherwise) and are threatening to take this to court since my wife quit using that account and there is no more money for them to pull.

As a result of this my wifes credit is now shot.  Everything else she has is absolutely perfect (long history, never late, great debt/credit ratios, etc…), even her other loans she had with this credit union that were running simultaneous to all of this credit card crap were paid in full and never late.  I’ve been fighting that I’ll still gladly pay the balance (they’ve made a killing off of this card by now with what they have been withdrawing every month for the past 5 years) but I want them to delete this from her credit file, but they refuse to remove it.  They said it is completely our fault and the best they will do is settle for $700 and it will remain on her credit report.

I want this to go away and I want them to own up to their part in this horrible mess but I have no clue what to really do.  It’s not worth my time to go to court over this and I don’t want to continue to lose even more money on this.

So with that horribly long story, anyone have any suggestions?

I am 20 years old and i had an installment loan with a bank for my truck and a kay jewelers cc for my wifes ring. I paid off the installment in full and wrote a check for $3,600 and the kay for $1,600 paid in full. I also have a shell gas card for one year now. My credit suffered from the kay cc bc it looked like a maxed out cc but it really wasnt. My fico score was 720 before the kay and bc of it maxed out it fell to 640. Will my credit go right back up bc i paid it off in full?

I was an AU on my wifes Sears Card which she fell behind on and it was charged off. After many failed attepmts to negotate with them via phone I sent them a letter disputing my liabilities, cited the statutes and demanding removal.. 3 weeks later I received a letter saying the have done just that! woo hoo

Got 3 letters from BOA yesterday notifying us that they were closing an account from 1996 with a $50K credit line, reducing one with a $44K line to $29K and reducing fron from $19K to $15K.

We are carrying a balance of $28K on on of these cards and $12K on another. The account that was closed had a Zero balance on it.

2 of these accounts are in my wife’s name and 1 in mine.

I had called Bank of America about a week ago to request a lower APR on the account with the balance. I was transferred to an analyst that "reviewed" our accounts and basically refused to lower the rate. Unfortunately, I was not very nice to her when she refused. I told her that we have many accounts with BOA; we have quite a bit of money on deposit and we have 2 retirement accounts as well. I demanded to speak to a supervisor but she told me that the final decision was hers and that was that.

We have NEVER been late and have been paying these accounts down very aggressivedly. Before this fiasco, my average (across all 3 agencies) score was in the 790-812 range and my wifes’s score was in the 820-850 range. I am not sure what promoted this. We have always been extremely careful with our credit but this baffles me to no end.

I feel that she acted spitefully because I got upset when she refused to lower the rate and the result was a "review" of our accounts and the subsequent closure/reduction of credit lines.

WE have been with BOA for 8 years now and 2 of the credit card accounts are from what was MBNA (since the mid 90s). Closing these accounts and bringing the credit limit down will impact our scores in a big way. I havent checked the updated scores (I am actually afraid to) but I will.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or advice? I am baffled and quite upset because of the potential domino effect.

Thanks!
