Mortgage and Insurance

Short story…..

 

During the time period after my divorce I learned that my ex utilized my information to rent an apartment, all the utilities and failed to pay on these all using my information.  Now this took me about 3 years to clear off of my CR as not mine.  She did this not only once, but twice.  Also during this time period I found out that she also purchased a computer via dell website to be delivered to her Nebraska address.  This was in 2003-4.   I worked it out with her to pay for this which she did for about 5 months.  She paid me and I paid the bill, then it all stopped.  I could not afford the payment in my situation at that time.  The account was “charged off” in 2004 (November) I think. 

 

Recently it went off of my credit reports and my score went up, but then……I get contacted by Midland stating that they have purchased the account and want full payment including interest.  Now, not once did I ever receive a bill from dell or Cit, or whoever this was through.  I do know that this has my name on it because it was on my CR.  I have not heard one thing from anyone in over 6 years.   I thought this was strange.

 

What should my next recourse be in this matter?  thanks for any assistance.
