Ok so here is the thing. I have 3 cc accounts on my report that are really hurting me. All 3 are charged off and in collections. All 3 were also opened by my ex wife without my knowledge or permission. I recieved a letter today from one of the OC’s wanting me to fill out a FTC identity theft report. I don’t want to cause any trouble (kids). What should I do?
I have a Auto loan from NMAC from 2005 that i couldn’t afford and got repo’d in oct of 2005. Â It says I owe 3600 from the difference i guess of the auction of the car.
Â
Last time anything was reported was 2005, and it states collections. Â Should I just let this thing fall off since it’s going away soon?
Â
I
i need a very important question answered. my wife and i are in the process of buying a home. my wife defaulted on her student loan a year ago.
we need about 80 to 90 points for us to qualify for a certain loan. we have spoken to the company(ecmc) that holds her loan. they offered us a settlement
or we can deal with the rehab program. the thing is it takes nine months for a delete to take place and no telling how long for the CRA to update it. is it better for us to just pay in full and see if we get the points we need or do we do the long drawn out rehab? my wife figured if we pay it just may bring the score up some. please can someone give us a input on what we should do.
I’ve received a collection notice that has no ‘Current Creditor’ listed anywhere in the notice. There is a ‘Current Servicer’ given, but the two places where the form letter says ‘current creditor’ it is followed by a blank space.
Â
The other thing is, I had actually settled the debt in full 3 days after the date stated in the notice as the date the ‘debt was created’.
Â
Now I’m just wondering what is the quickest, least-hassle way to address this. Should I go down the DV path or is challenging it due to the missing Creditor a better way to go?

As I have stated in many previous posts, I attempted to get Chase to remove a CC CO, with many many unsuccessful attempts. I really don’t want this thing on my report for another 3 years. Is anyone out there having success?
Ok so I have 2 collection accounts with Midland Management, both for about 1300, totaling 2600. One is out of SOL the other wont be for another year and a half. Midland sent me a settlement letter for the one that is past sol. I have the money to cover that but definitely not to cover the one still in sol too. i fully intend to pay them both off this year, but i want to validate them prior to paying (seeing everyone says that is the thing to do).  My dilemma is that I am afraid to validate the past sol one in fear that they will pursue the one still in sol. not really sure what i should do. I will have the money to pay the one still in sol in a few months.
So there was this collection that belonged to my ex-husband. I’ve disputed it once before and it was only updated. I called them the other day and talked to someone who said they’d have a supervisor call me. I just pulled my credit report and they have updated this thing ONCE AGAIN. And even though its showing a 0 balance it now looks like a 2008 collection, vs 2006. WTH?? I didn’t ask them to update it, I asked them to call me.Â
Â
What, if anything can I do about this?
ok I received a recent letter from RJM on an account dated 11/1994(16 years ago).

I just stumbled unto this . If you fax a corrected balance for any account to a CRA and tell them its for a mortgage on hold, they will update the new information within 48 hours.
Â
Already knew the 48 hour thing when I requested an update to an account document I just faxed for my wife’s account. The lady said we should hear from them by April 16th , I told her we have a mortgage on hold and April 16th isn’t acceptable. She instantly said -please hold while I look into your credit file, came back saying it will update within 48 hours.

There must be a law in place?
