I have a Conn’s and I was late a few months because of unemployment and only paid partial payments.  Well, I remembered I had the unemployment  insurance and after going back & forth with them, the ins co finally kicked in and made the payments.  Whew!!!!! I am thankful for that.  My question is, do you think Conn’s will reverse the way it was reported since to me, I wasn’t late as the insurance paid the months I was in arrears and beyond?  This is a revolving account and until I was unemployed, I was never late, in fact I paid off a prior item purchased.

I had a medical collection placed on my report back in February. The services were for my wife and the insurance was in her name, and they hit my report but not hers. Go figure. Anyways, long story short, I did the HIPAA process except for the redispute letter with the CRAs and second letter to OC. The collection is for $76 and was originally reporting to all 3 CRAs. I paid the OC through their website. After I sent the HIPAA letter to the OC it was deleted immediately from TU and EQ, but not EX. EX shows it as a paid collection, disputed and validated. Not sure if there’s anything I can do at this point to get it removed yet, but I’m wondering how much it’s actually hurting me and if it’s even worth it to pursue it further. This is the only negative information on my report now. Reporting CA is Americollect. Thanks in advance!
So there is a new medical collection that just showed up on my report, and the collection agency does not really have the right to report this. I started receiving the letters in the mail about 2months ago and I called the MD office about it, since it was being disputed with the insurance company. The MD office told me not to worry about the collection agency. About 1month ago the insurance re-considered and paid the claim at 80%, I called the MD office to see what I owed and they said they will get back with me. And then today the Collection account shows up for the full amount on my credit report and my score dropped a good 50points. WTF…..
1. Is there a way to regain the points if the collection is removed? (like same day removal and points are back?)
2. Did they violate any legal rules?, can I sue???
3. Can someone pass a brown bag through the internet, I think I am about to start hyperventilating.
