Last week, I wrote a GW letter to Sanjiv Das, CEO of CitiMortgage, asking him to remove the excessive deliquencies due to the long process it took to get approved for the modification program. It took over 16 months and our credit took a major hit. I just received this letter in the mail today; here’s a portion of the good news:

“We have informed the agencies to correct any derogatory information associated with the April 2009 through June 2010 payments and have elected to report no history for these months. Please retain this letter and allow 30 to 45 days before requesting a copy of your credit report so the agencies may update their records accordingly.”

My DH and I couldn’t be more pleased! I wouldn’t have known to write a goodwill letter if it weren’t for the advice I received on these forums. I can’t thank you all enough!! And I’m so thankful that someone like Mr. Das actually listened to a customer and helped us out. Now, I can’t wait to see how it effects our credit.

I have cleaned up a bill with one creditor and they said they will report to the agencies on July 21st.

Without a rapid rescore, how fast will that typically show up if my lender did another credit pull?

Thank you.

I’m just now starting to understand the importance of rebuilding my credit and have some collectors that I’d like to contact and settle with.  Unfortunately I can’t find any contact information for the collections agencies.  Any ideas on how to go about contacting them?

The names of the agencies according to my report are “701yc00488″  and “Aac”

Thanks!

Trying to be more intelligent consumers, my husband and I paid off our debt a few of years ago, and have been living within our means.  Much of the point of this was to improve our credit score, because there were some accounts showing that weren’t well handled by us, and we thought cleaning it up would help.

I’m able to get a “credit score” from freecreditreport.com (mid 600′s), but because I have no credit or debt accounts that have been active for the past six months, I don’t have a FICO score.  This means that when my bank (the very same one that gave my my last two loans) runs my report, they get 0 or null credit score reported.

What’s the best way to get back onto the grid?  I don’t currently have a need for a credit account…nor do I really want one, in all truth.  But I might some day, and being visible to the agencies who can help me is probably best.  Your input will be much appreciated!
