Well this is sort of bad and good. I have a younger brother who has a similar name and same home address, and social # off by one number. Pretty much, our credit reports were mixed on transunion. I disputed some of his items on my credit report and told Transunion that a lot of the items on my credit report weren’t mine, blah blah, and submitted brothers/mine ids for verification. Long story short, knowing how stupid credit bureaus are, Transunion merged everything under my brother’s name. My credit report got wiped out. Well, this was 3 years ago. Now, my credit is fixed on both experian and equifax with good legitimate tradelines. How do i go about reporting these tradelines on Transunion. I have a discovery card, bofa, macys. Can I send a letter to Transunion with the account numbers? I tried calling discover and they keep telling me they are reporting to Transunion, but when I try to pull credit report from Transunion, it says that my credit file does not exist. I’m sort of in a catch 22. Any advice, opinions, strategies will be appreciated.Â
Hi everybody,
I have some questions AND I would like to ask you all for some feedback regarding this letter. It is a GW letter asking for deletion of TL on an account I’ve already paid.
1) Is it ok, would you add/change something? How is the wording?
2) On my credit report, I do not have the full account number listed, will that be sufficient information for them to find my account?
3) I moved two months ago, should I include my old street address?
4) Anything else that I missed???

Re: My account number
Â
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to request your understanding and help. During the time that I had my credit card with Lowe’s, I was a new mom, working part time, and going through what I now call my “stupid credit phase.â€Â I did not keep up with the payments, and the account was sold to your company.
Â
Now that I am employed in a good job full time, I paid the account in July 2009. I am working hard to pay for the mistakes I made during my “broke and stupid credit phase,†and improve my credit score in order to be able to obtain a mortgage for my family’s first home. The account is shown as “Paid†but reporting as a collection account and hurting my credit score. I am close to having a high enough score to obtain a mortgage loan.
Â
I would like to request that your company have some mercy on me and please make a “Goodwill Adjustment†and remove the account from all of the credit reporting agencies. Your kind gesture would be sincerely appreciated by my family and me. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide. You may contact me through my address listed above or email me at my_email. Thank you again!
Â
Respectfully yours,

I am venting – just FYI!!!
Â
I made a purchase, new account. Â I wanted to pay cash, but they said they don’t deal with cash (don’t ask). Â Fine, get their stupid credit and told them as soon as it’s in the system, it’s being paid off. Â Same day. Â
Â
It’s FINALLY in the system today, I called to pay it off.  The  >>insert adjective or two<< freakin' added more than $131.00 in interest!!!  Hello?!!?  The account was JUST created today, so how the frick do you get $131.00 in interest???
Â
I paid off the principle, but they have every intention of charging me MORE interest on the interest I didn’t pay off today! Â At the rate of $14 a day! Â I reread my terms and there is NOTHING about this!
Â
Now I have to wait up to 3 business days for another department to call me back to discuss my “issues” with the interest. Â Meanwhile, at least $14 a day is being charged on the account. Â >>More adjectives!!<<
Â
So why didn’t I pay the flumped up interest charges? Â Besides the principle of it all, I don’t have it. Â If I did pay it, I wouldn’t have enough to pay my regular bills.Â
