Recently pulled my credit report and was shocked to see a medical bill still listed with a CA when they agreed over a yr. ago to delete.  When I contacted the CA they said they had deleted and had no idea why it would still be listed on my credit report.  They suggested I contacted Equifax.  Does anyone know if that is what I should do?

Ok, so I have a couple accounts still listed on my EX CR that are charged off. The date they have it to be removed is 7 years from the DOFD. According to the NYS FCRA they should be removed in 5 years from the DOFD because they are charge offs and that is NYS law.  BTW they are paid, not in full, but paid.

My question is, how should I dispute this? What should I say, and how should I say it in a letter to them? Also, should I send it to them now asking to them change the date of removal date, or wait until the 5 years are up and then contact them about it? EQ and TU have the accounts marked to removed at the correct dates following the NY FCRA.

I have read some articles which saw EX is HORRIBLE about following the NYS law. I even read that they think it has to be paid in full in order to apply when thats not what the law says. It just says paid. Has anyone else dealt with this and how did you handle it? Thx!

Hi Everyone,

One of the CB’s has my student loans reported twice.  I have 9 student loans, and they are all reported separate.  I had a few late payments back in 2006, so that’s 9 dings on my credit report.  However, the student loan as since been sold to another bank.  The new bank, SallieMae, has reported all the the old payment history as theirs… and the old bank, GA Student Finance Commission, is still listed on my credit report with the exact same payment history.  So now I have 18 dings on my credit report instead of 9.  I’m being hit twice for the exact same late payment.  It’s pulled my FICO score down 25 points.  Shouldn’t the one late payment only be listed once, not twice?  How do I fix this?

Thanks

I have a couple credit card accounts still listed from the OC’s

under the accounts section but they are listed as bad debt/collection

would it be wise to make a couple payments to them to help pay them

off and also bring down my Util?

Also would they have to update the balance etc if I did make the payments

until I could pay them in full and then good will?

Hi Forum,

I am new to the forum and am seeking information and a dispute letter template I can use to help demonstrate to Capital One and the CRAs that I am NOT deceased as they have me listed. I have already sent a notorized letter to the aforementioned and am still listed as deceased. What else can I do, short of hiring an attorney?

I would appreciate any insight as to my next steps.
