Basically I owe $268 to Sprint (won’t go into why I can’t to trust a brother anymore). West Asset Management have been calling, and have reported on my credit reports.

I tried dealing with WAM – DV, PFD, even talked to them – but I seem to be getting nowhere.

I was able to find out that Sprint still owned the bill.

If I call Sprint and they are willing to take payment, that doesn’t mean WAM has to stop reporting to my credit reports, correct?

If I pay Sprint directly, would WAM receive any of the compensation?

Basically I want to know if I can use the fact that I can pay the OC as a way to get the CA to accept my PFD.  That way everyone gets there money, and I get it off of my report.

Sidenote: Definitely within SOL.  Want to try everything before paying and then having to send GWs and hope for the best.

I owe Sprint money from 4 years ago and was wondering if they would settle for a percentage of what I owe?

On my Equifax CR I have a collection account from Sprint for $361. The Date of Last Activity is Jan. 2008. I am thinking about doing a PFD. Is that a good idea?

There is no contact info for this debt listed on my CR, do I just call Sprint and ask for the collections department??

Leah said to contact Sprint if the SOL has expired (which I am pretty sure in AZ is 6 yrs) and ask for a recall.  What is a recall and is it better than sending a PFD letter?

Confussed….

….Call Sprint. Talk to them. If they still own the debt and just hired a CA to collect, you can still pay them. And avoid the CA interest fees. You can also negotiate a “recall”. Pay Sprint, and they’ll pull from the CA. Resulting in a removed collection on your reports.

I just found on my TU report that there are 3 CA’s reporting the same acct. The acct is from Sprint PCS. The funny thing is that  the original acct number is different on each collection but the amounts are the same. I know I only had one acct from Sprint go into collections, years ago so it has to be the same account. Are CA’s allowed to report like this? Should I just DV them and see what happens?

OK so I ordered my annual credit report.  There was a collection account on it.  It says Sprint, but was added by west asset management. I opened a Sprint account for my brother (stupid), and thought it was taken care of (stupid again).

1.  It says date open is 02/2010, but the phone was shut off in 05/2009.  Is this showing correctly?

2.  I have yet to receive any sort of correspondence from them (I did however move in 2009).  Do they have to let me know when reporting?  If they sent it to my old address and it wasn’t forwarded does that count as them trying to contact me?

3. What is the best way of dealing with the situation?  Should I call them? Set up monthly payments?  Pay in full?

4. Am I correct in beleiving If I do pay off the debt it will lower my score?  How long does it take for the score to start rebounding?

Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

A few weeks ago I sent a PFD letter to ER solutions for an old Sprint bill.  Because I didn’t hear back from them, I decided to call.  The lady I spoke to said that they

would agree to the PFD and would send it to me in writing.  A few days went by and I recieved nothing.  This week I received a letter from them that said ” Here is the

info you requested”, which was an actual copy of my sprint bill from Feb. 2008.  In the meantime I checked my credit report and the collection had come off my report.

Yesterday I finally recieved the letter stating they agree to the PFD and it was dated 7/28/10.  ?????? What do I do now?

I received a alert today that Harvard Collection showed up n my credit report.  I think its a old Sprint Bill for $406.00.  Please tell me the next step to take.  My FAKO score dropped  26 pts.  Has anyone ever heard od this company and are they hard to work with? What do I do next?
