These people are reporting an old debt that is out of the SOL & was PIF to OC. I’m in the middle of buidling a house and this could be traumatic to my new mortgage.  I called N.R.G. and they wouldn’t give me their fax.  I tried Googling as well with no luck.  Any help would be much appreciated.

it is a long and slow process. My husband was self employeed for about 5 years, and that ruined our credit. Now we are rebuilding. We found the house of our dreams, way underpriced, but our credit scores suck. How do we get a home loan, we could afford the payments, but we can’t find financing. We pay over $ 1500 a month towards past debt, but….. We want this house and we can afford it, we just don’t have good credit. What lender will look at the fact that we have been making an effort and our income?

I have 4 collections accounts that show Date of 1st Deliquency, from Novemeber of 2005.  Does that mean the SOL is up?  What do I do?  (Michigan SOL is 6years.. so technically the SOL is up in November of this year?  Correct?  What do I do in the meantime with these collection accounts?)

If a debt is due to “fall off” what exactly does that mean? Is it able to be resold, etc. Any info will be greatly appreciated :) In my case it is a collection from years ago, and per TU it’s due to be rmoved in november of this year. It’s out of SOL . This debt is my main priority right now and I don’t want to contact them in case of any issues that may arise.

So I was shaking in my boots because I DV’d without checking SOL.  I was just waiting to get some nasty news from the collection agency until I realized…they removed it from all 3 CRAs.

I have a collection for a broken lease. It was placed for collection in June of 2007.I want to negotiate a PFD,but I want to wait until the SOL has expired. My question is when is the date I should contact them? And does anyone have an example of  the SOL expired letter I can send them?

is there a way to know the difference between a soft and a hard pull on the experian report? I just saw that a CA pulled my report for a charge off (americredit) acct. I live in TX and I believe this debt is past SOL. opened 4/06 and i think it charged off in 7 or 8 of 2006. It is scheduled to remain on my report until 2/2013. Is the CA able to pull my credit if it is beyond SOL??

All of my credit troubles started right before I moved to TX from LA. I am trying figure out and understand the SOL for each state, however, how does it apply?  Do I follow the SOL for Louisiana, since thats where I live at 1st DofD or do I follow TX, since thats my current home state?

Please help.

Hi all!

My husband and I just received a summons on a hospital debt that is over 6 years old.  The original date of service was 11/25/2004 and the bill amount is $1374, and it was a hospital located in the state of CT.  We have never in over 6 years received a bill regarding this alleged debt nor were we ever contacted by the representing attorney in order to validate the debt.  What should we do and how should we answer this summons?  Isn’t there a SOL on debts such as this?  I know the CC SOL in CT is 6 years, so wouldn’t this fall under that?

Please help!  We have an answer date of 1/20/11.

Thanks!!!

i have an account that is being reported.  it is outside SOL and CRTP, but the information contained in it is factually correct.

can i use direct dispute to have it deleted or is this solely an issue of CRA reporting?
