Need Assistance

Mar 022010

I have an old Ford account that is just killing my Ex. score.  It is my opinion that they have been using the incorrect DOFD, so I disputed with Ex. It came  back verified.  But they also reaged the CO date from 2/2006 to 2/2010.  This dropped my FAKO about 70 points. I then redisputed, and included a letter from Ford I found around the house.  It’s an old letter informing me the account is past due.  When I redisputed with Ex, I shot a letter to Ford asking them to investigate the matter (DOFD) internally.

I have not received anything back from the 2nd dispute, nor have I got anything from Ford.  But I pulled my Ex today, and saw a new comment saying the account was verified in Mar. 2010.  The CO date has also been updated again, from  2/2010, to 3/2010. The account is always listed asCharge-off/Never late. So apparently Ford has verified the info, and I just havent received the letter.

Little things like this have been going on with this account for about 2 years.  I just recently started getting aggresive with clearing information that is not accurate from my report.

Are they able to move the CO date every month?  Do I have the ability to demand an account history from Ford?  If so, are there any example letters or should a simple request do the job.

I view Ford as a credible company.  The things they are doing are killing my report.  But it almost seems as if this is a result of computer error and not something purposely being done. I can’t see how an account listed as ”charge-off/Never late” would get past human review. Regardless of why it’s happening, I need it to stop, and would love to hear any ideas anybody may have. In my letter to Ford asking them to investigate the matter, I requested they send me copies of all relevant documents they used to make their determination. I was hoping that would have been good enough to get an account history.  Seeing that they verified the wrong information again, I doubt it was.

This debt is past SOL, and no CA is collecting on it right now. I say right now, because about 8 months ago when I disputed something else with this account, I got a call from a CA. After getting a Dunning letter from them, I sent them a DV request and I never heard back from them.

Thanks
