I was having my doubts on goodwilling but I just had my first success which scored me an increase of 30 points today. I just about did a standing back flip!! My success was with First Savings Credit Card. It was a charge off which I recently paid off. The agent on the phone was not willing to budge on any sort of goodwill. So, I starting the goodwill letter writing the next day. I sent out two on the same day to two different address. They were addressed to some of the higher ups names I found while searching the net. I am not sure which one worked but I got a scorewatch alert today with the 30 point increase. I pulled my report today from MYFICO and the account was totally deleted. I am so thrilled and thankful to everyone on here. I have been doing a lot of reading on this board. I modeled my letter from some that I have seen on here but substituted in my own factors that caused my problems. I felt it was best to be honest. You do not want your letters just to be the same old form letter. Explain your reasons and you never know. Sorry to be long winded but I am very happy and wanted to share my story. I went from a 590 to 620.
I sent out two DV letters to MCM on 08/12. When I went online to track, it shows it wasn’t deliverable as addressed! I forgot a number in the PO BOX, big dumb mistake. Today is the 30th day for DV. If it is postmarked today does it still count within my 30 days or do they have to receive it within 30 days?

So I sent out several GW letters after reading all the great advice from posts on the community. Yesterday I sent out two GW emails to First Premier, the account was CO in 08 and paid in full. I asked to GW the past due from all three of the credit files from paying in full even when offered a settlement and even asked them to reopen the account. I am hopping they do it will greatly help my credit it is my only major derog. I have two other past due accounts from oct of 08 (30 days late) one response has already told me no (CITI). Waiting on Americredit. Please keep your fingers crossed for me with First Premier it is the biggie! Hopefully they see it as a way to make some money! I will update when I hear a reponse other than the generic email stating it will be read in the order it was recieved….
Ok, so I paid off two CC’s and have one with a 2035 balance on a 2750 limit. Sent out two GW for lates (inaccurate) and a paid (OC) collection.
But I’m confused about another. It was a utility ($58) sent to a CA. I called the OC and paid she said they would pull it back from the CA. I don’t know what that means other than the obvious. Is there more to a pull-back than calling the CA and saying its paid. Does it do anything to get the CA off? What do I need to do?
