After 45 days I finally got word that the CRA has deleted one of  two disputed collection accounts. That’s good news as the other one is due to fall off within 6 months or so.

However, the email I got also requested that I send

1 A copy of my Driver’s License
2 A copy of my SS card or W2 Form
3 A copy of a utility bill

I do not have any other disputes ongoing and I downloaded a .pdf with the result’s of the two disputes.

I would like to know why the CRA needs this info now and is it to my benefit to send this info in? Is it possible they can revert the outcomes should I not send this info in? I have my doubts since I’ve heard that they sell this info to whoever.

Thanks in advance for responding.

i recently checked my report….and found a 30/60/90 late payment from november 2004 – jan 2005, on an account that has been closed since november 2005 this account was closed specifically over this late payment which was the result of a representative having told me that the annual fee had been waived. since i hadnt used the card … and wasnt expecting to be charged a fee…i neglected to pay it. my question is …. is there anything i might be able to do to resolve this ….as its the only negative factor on any of my 3 credit reports. thanks for any input

The 4 baddies were the result of bad decisions made while in college…..i have a much better understanding for money and credit these days….i just cant seem to move ahead with these baddies holding me back…..current scores in the low to mid 600′s

All opions/advice is appreciated……thanks

So sent a PFD to NCO Financial and today got a DV from Lisa Signore.

Any thoughts on what to do now? Send another PFD. I did use a PFD form that did say in the biggining that I “dispute this debt”…so this is prolly the result.

I had a negative account on my EQ that I disputed as not mine.  When I got my investigation results, it showed the result of the other entry I  disputed simultneously.  Well I pulled the EQ again and the acct not mentioned in their investigation was removed.

Does this mean they just took it off now to buy time in case they are able to verify it later?  I am not worried about them trying to verify because it is truely not mine.  I am just curious as to why EQ didn’t mention it was removed in their investigation report to me.

Changes in the FCRA Sec. 623  went into effect, as of 7/1/2010.  Just wondering if anyone has a link that has information on the changes.

Im wanting to get a better understanding of what, if any, kind of information the OC must provide when you request they conduct 623 investigation.  Are they able to simply respond with the results of their investigation, or are they required to respond with actual documentation supporting the result of their investiagtion.

If you are disputing lates, what should the consumer expect to receive from an OC?

Thanks!

In checking my credit report I found three public records.

The first is a state tax lien for $751 filed 04/2006 that I was not aware of from a state that I used to live in 2003.  I disputed the lien with EQ and EXP and the result was “reviewed, meets FCRA standards”.  There is an address for the court and a record number, no phone number.  Any suggestions on the best way to get this taken care of?

The second is a civil suit filed in 2005  for $1603 with a circuit court.  Same state I moved from in 2003 and the dispute (with TU) resulted in the same as the previous.

The third is a state tax lien for $77 file 06/1994.  I am not sure why this is still showing but the dispute process did not remove it from (TU).

Any suggestions on the best method for clearing these up would be greatly appreciated.  Can you use a Pay and Delete letter with public records?

Thanks

As part of my credit rebuild I added an Orchard Bank credit card.  It started out at an annual fee of less than 100, a very low limit, and high interest rate.

Over the last two years, my limit has increased to $570, and my credit has improved quite a bit (see my journal linked below).

My question:

Will HSBC lower the rate and/or reduce or eliminate the annual fee?  Has anyone had success requesting this?  What method is best, a letter or phone call?  Would a request like this result in a hard pull?

Thanks for the help.Â
