I need some suggestions on what to do as this forum seems to know everything about credit. Â
Â
I had a repo in 2005 (Account A). Â The next day I came up with the money and took the car back. Â At that time they transfered the account to another account number (Account B). Â Later that year I refinanced (Account C) and paid it all off. Â No money is owed to any account.
Â
After some disputing on the first account I was able to get the all but Experian to show the “Pay Status” to Current (not sure if this is the correct term… Â This is coming from TrueCredit). Â Experian is still showing a repo. Â Which of course shows this as a derogatory account. Â I do not see how it could have this status. Â Â I could be wrong, but as no money is owed.
Â
After continuous disputes and trying to talk w/ the company I sent a letter to the BBB-
Â
“In 2005 my car was repossessed. I ended up coming up with the money and took back the car. They had to transfer the account and closed the original account. All accounts have been paid in full. On my Experian credit report the original account Account A still shows a status of “Repossession”. It also has notes on the account that I may still owe money. I have disputed this over and over with Experian. When they “Investigate” Mitsubishi always “verifies” the account. I have tried to contact Mitsubishi several times and end up leaving voice mails with no return calls.”
Â
Here was the reply -
Â
“We have verified that Account A  lists as transferred to another office with a repossession mark, as it became necessary for Mitsubishi Motors Credit of America, Inc. (MMCA) to recover the vehicle. Later, after the vehicle was reinstated, the account number was converted to Account B. This account was later paid off as the vehicle was refinanced into a new account number, Account C. We also checked for any messages and/or calls but our records do not reflect that there have been any from Mr. Johnson. As a courtesy, we have sent another notice to the credit reporting agencies to ensure that account number Account B reflects as “paid and closed†in their files.
Â
Here is what my reports are showing -

Account C
Nothing to dispute. Show it was paid off in April 2006
Â
Â
As you can see there are many discrepancies. To me, the look like duplicate accounts as well.
Â
I guess my questions are; Should the status be Repo even though it is paid (I don’t disagree with the repo tick in the 2 year history on Account A but definitely do on Account B)? Are these considered duplicates?
Â
Where do I even start? Â
