I recently paid off some collections that were due to credit cards my sister opened in my name and failed to pay.  After I paid them off, I sent GW letters to the OCs, explaining what happened and asking them to remove the negative remarks since I paid the collection.

Today I got a phone call from GEMB/Walmart.  The automated message said they received my letter and they would have the issue resolved within 14 days.  No more detail than that.  Do you think that means they are going to remove the negative marks from the CRAs?  Has anyone else had a similar experience with receiving a phone call like this after sending in a GW?

I’ve recently paid off a couple Judgements that appeared on my CR.  Two are processing Warrants of Satisfaction.  One (which I paid off a bout 6 months ago), never processed a Warrant of Satisfaction.  I didn’t know to ask at the time.  They did however send me a letter stating that the debt was paid in full.  This particular creditor (New Jersey Natural Gas: NJNG) did have their judgement showing on all 3 of my CR’s.  I’ve successfully had two of three DELETED recently (Exception: TransUnion of course).

My question: is it worth going back to NJNG and demanding a Warrant of Satisfaction?  Is there any chance that when that WoS is processed in the Courts, that the original Judgements with a SATISFIED update could re-appear on the two CR’s that have recently deleted?

Thanks!

I recently paid a tax judgement with the State of Ohio.  When I made the payment I requested that they update the three credit reporting agencies (TU
EQ EX).  They replied with “release and satisfaction of judgement” and informed me that they do not report with the credit bureaus.  They also stated that I need to file the release with the Clerk of Courts Common Pleas Court.  I contacted the clerk of courts and submitted the release to be recorded last week.

My question is how do I get this updated with CRAs?  Can  it be updated as a paid judgement or something different on my credit report?  Any suggestions on how to get this improved on my credit report?

I recently paid off a Cap One charge off from 2006 and once that balance was zero I got about 30 points on EQ and TU.  Since then I got another Cap One card and a secured savings loan with a local credit union.  I think my mom may have added me to her AMEX as well…  other than getting my util  down is there anything else I should do? Or just let everything age now.

My positive accounts are on EQ:

Badcock Furniture limit $1800 balance $512

Best Buy Reward Zone  $100  balance $0

Orchard    $400 balance $333

Capital One $300  new not reporting yet

Georgias Own Secured Savings loan $500  new not yet reporting

Baddies:

CMI $363 (Brighthouse Cable Collections)  I plan to pay this when I get my tax return  it was assigned last year

Prof Adj Bur  $100 emergency room visit

another old cable bill for $329 from 2003  I think this one will fall off at the end of the year.

EQ 589

TU 620

I recently paid a nice chunk off on my Discover card (2000 from 5k balance), but was addming more to it with a recent business trip (maybe 1k more).  I see today that my I am $501 over the limit! They decreased my credit line. I assume it’s perfectly fine for them to do this, but is it really when it can cause damage to one’s credit score? I have never been over the limit with them and always paid on time, although my balance was always at the limit. NOw with me being $500 over the limit, I assume this will have a more negative effect on my score. True? If so, isnt there any recourse? I know, call them up, bla bla then hear their excuses and reasons and get nowhere.

hi.

so back when i was a youngin’ i messed up my credit. i have been paying for it ever since. i recently paid off 1 of the 2 outstanding credit cards on my credit report. A paid in full letter was mailed stating as such. However I really don’t know what this does for me or my credit score. Will it raise my score? Will it just be marked Paid in Full on my report and do nothing for my score? what do i need to do in order to raise my score if the PIF will not do that for me?

the second card I am paying on is currently being paid to a lawyer – and i am not sure if they are currently reporting this to my credit report.

the only other thing i have on my credit report is my car note and my student loans.

i am starting the process of fixing my credit so i can obtain my VA home loan to purchase my first house – however I am terrified to do that if none of what I have been doing is helping my credit score.

any information on this would be greatly appreciated since i am completely clueless as to how any of this works.

I recently paid off three collections accounts that were all recently reported on 2 of 3 cra’s.  One of the collections agreed to delete, and sent me letter stateing such and the others have sent me paid in full letters.  What is the quickest way to get these to reflect on my scores?
