I remember stumbling across a thread about how you should/shouldn’t dispute things with the CRAs – assuming that disputing is what I want to do, could someone weigh in on the method? I can’t seem to find the thread I’m thinking of, but it was about how if you mail a hard copy they have 30 days vs 45 days if you fax or do it online….or was it the other way around….in any case, I’d love to hear the pros/cons of each method!

So, if I am in the process of GW some collections and lates, should I opt out? What are the pros and cons?
Â
And if I am also in the midst of going for a mortgage, does that change my options?
Â
Also I recently saw a post on the mortgage thred that says if you dispute an item it will re-age the account. Does that mean if I GW something now it will stay on a credit report for another 7 years??!???
Â
Seems like navigating credit scores shouldn’t be so difficult.
Â
Thanks again everybody?
