Need some advice folks & I can’t find any more info on it.

I currently have a listing on my EXPERIAN credit report for a small amount (around $100) that i’ve submitted a check to pay it off (it’s about 5 years old). I sent a letter with it, requesting the usual, mark as paid within 30 days, never report it to another CR now or in the future, etc etc.

Well they returned the check stating that even though the debt ONLY appears on my EX report, they are required to update TU and EQ as well. Since this debt does not appear on them (TU and EQ) currently does this mean that the PAID debt will appear?

They want me to resubmit a new check without the restrictions letter so they can “do their job.”

1. Does anyone know if that debt will appear as a newly paid debt on my “clear” credit reports.

2. Should I resubmit without the restrictions/requests?

Any thoughts or advice on this?

My thanks in advance.

I know a little bit about this, I know it looks better to pay in full to creditors eyes, but does it reallly matter if you pay in full or take a settlement offer?  How do future creditors look at this?  I am going the paid in full route on one of my credit cards that I owe $1300 but they did offer a settlement asking what I would like to pay.  Is paying in full the best route to go?

I have a judgement with Midland Funding LLC in the amount of $2,982. I want to have this paid off in the next 10 months, what is the best to go about this? I can pay $250 a month. Should I contact them on the phone regarding thing this since it is a judgement, or should I wait until i can pay in full?

Getting ready to purchase a home this fall. I have a judgement from and old apartment complex – from 2004. My LO advised to have this paid off asap so I started to go down that path. Easy enough to do because  a friends gf now manages the complex and I spoke to her.

The judgement was for $727 and the apt manager stated that she would accept the payment and file the paperwork asap to satisfy the judgement.

Even gave this to me in writing.

Now, I have on my on CR a tradeline for a collection agency for nearly $3k.

This is my debt and I need to pay it. But who do I pay? Does paying the OC negate the 3k bill currently on my CR?

I have plans to go to law after I graduate from 4-year college. I would like to know if I have to start paying back my student loans after 4-year college or when I graduated from law school? Postscript I am just doing some preliminary checks of student loans in general, I am a senior in high school, and I’m just thinking ahead.

Hi Forum,

I was taking a good look at this paid/chargeoff/collection from WFNNB/Express that is like a paperweight on my credit score. It being noted as Settled-less than full balance. I was wondering if anyone on the board has had success with having these marks removed from their report? Whats the best way of contacting them? Should I send a GW? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You

I had a medical collection that I paid in full in August of 2006.  Well fast forward to today and it’s reported again in 5/2010 I called the CA and they said not to worry they reported a paid in full ?  Why report anything at all?  How do I get these knuckleheads to get rid of this? I disputed with EQ ( That’s the only one reporting) and they came back with the paid in full story.  Experian and TU deleted all info regarding this matter now how to get EQ to do the same..Any info would be greatly appreciated..

OK, I finally got my dream job and it has an awesome salary. It’s located about an hour away from where we currently live so we definitely want to move closer by next Summer once the kiddos are out of school.

Here is what I have and what my plan is. Everything is within SOL. Let me know if I should follow through with that plan or if it needs tweaking:
