I pulled my Equifax report through and it shows my charge off last reported in Feb/2010. My question is, don’t they have to update every month? If they do, can I get it removed somehow because it was last updated months ago? It’s a paid settlement charge off and I will be sending GW letters here soon but if I can get it removed this way that’ll be awesome. Any help is appreciated!

First I want to say that I began my journey back in April of 09. I was in the mid 500 range and started reading this forum. It has helped me a great deal. So Let me give you a all what I’m working on. Today my TU is 693.

On my TU

1 federal lax lien from 2006 – I have not started working on this yet.  (amount $7668.00)

HSBC – a charge off – scheduled to fall off in August 2010

Plains Commerce Bank – charged off 2005 – scheduled on record until 5/2012

Verizon – paid settlement  (I wish I had paid in full, question here – can I go back and pay the dfference for a pfd?

Good items:

Mortgage loan – paid as agreed (Closed)

Old First Premier Bank Card – paid as agreed – (closed)

New Centennial Card – 7.00 balance – paid as agreed – current

Since TU is my strongest I wanted to work from there. I have no other revolving credit accounts open and I have 8 badies removed forever. After reading the threads I though getting a hooters card would be easy, but I was declined, no reason was give and I lost a few points on TU which is now 693. The other day I received a pre qualified letter for a platinum Master card app letter from Orchard Bank. This is owned by HSBC. Since I have a charge off with them

should I apply for this.

I don’t mind losing a few points on an inquiy if I could get another card. If I could get another CC I would like to get a unsecured card if possible, but I’m willing to go the secured card way if I have to. Any suggestions here would be great.

My current goal is to get both TU and eq (638) up to a point to get a car loan with a decent rate. I recently jooined NASA CU but a rep told me that they pull experian and you must have 640 to get a car loan. They do not offer secured CC cards. When I applied for my NASA account they pulled my equifax.

I live in Northern VA so maybe I should look for another CU that may have better products. Any advice would be a big help. Let me know what you think?

Thanks so much
