I tried to verify a debt from first premiere bank for the last 45 days and I never recieved anything in writing from them at any time about this debt. I think I made a mistake by disputing this online through EQ. as I just got a SW alert that my score dropped 24 points due to the dispute. What happens now? Anyone know if this happens when disputing online?

Good Afternoon, i am hoping someone can help me.
I have been trying to rebuild my credit and I have finally made some progress. I am sitting around 690 on all 3. I have been pre approved for a mortgage and was looking froward to buying in the next couple of months.

This morning i got a complete blow to everything.
I have credit monitoring with Equifax and i recieved an alert and it stated the following.

Suit or Judgment information has been added to or changed on your credit file.

Court/ Case Number:

AMERICREDIT of

Amount:  $7,014
Plaintiff:
Status:
Satisfied Date: N/A

This was an account i had before i divorced, it was a joint account. It was for an automobile loan, it was repossesed and it states its charged off.  Date opened, 6/2001, reported since 2/2004, date of status 1/2005, last reported 12/2010. Other information, says charge off as of Dec 2010, Jan 2005, 30 days past due as of Apr 2004- Oct 2004. Account is scheduled to continue on record until Oct 2011.

I never recieved a summons or anything, i haven’t heard anything and someone informed me becuase of statue of limitations i might be ok since its 4 years in Texas. I am worried sick becuase i am supposed to buy a home in a couple of months and i cannot with a judgment. I have tried to rebuild my credit since my divorce 5 years ago and i finally have and now this. I do not see it under public records in my credit report. Will it show up immediately. Please help. I’m so worried. I don’t even know what to do at this point.

Thanks

I got a CA ltr in the mail for a small amount $94. They claim it was for a book club service I signed up for about 5 years ago. However, I did not sign up for this service and never recieved any books.  I disputed this claim with the credit agencies but it is still on my credit reports. After reading a few threads I am realizing that disputing it was not the best first step.  What should I do now?? It is showing up on my credit report with a date of 8/2010, even though this was supposedly from years ago. I do not mind paying the money since I will be buying a home next year. I just want it off my report.

The CA is

RJM Acquistions

575 UNDERHILL BLVD
SUITE 224
SYOSSET , NY 11791

(800) 268-0623

Just in case anyone has dealt with them before.

i’m helping my sister with some credit issues.    She about to by a house and after pulling her report we saw that they are a some items in collections.

two items are both reported by CREDIT SYSTEMS INTL INC

1. power bill that was first reported late in 8/2004

2. medical bill first reported late in 1/2009

Sister had no clue about these items.  never recieved anything in the mail.   not even sure if they are her debts

a 3rd item is held by CMRE Financial Services  also a medical bill reported late 12/09.  aslo not sure if it is really her debt

so the 1st two items add up to like $90.   She is willing to pay in full if they agree to delete it.

the 3rd item is for like $300.  she is also willing to pay for delete.

how long does it take to be removed?   How long does the CA have to delete it if they agree?

A little background on this “debt”: it’s a $2,300 debt, I’m not sure where it came from and I question fraud. The debt is 5 years old ( opened in 2005 ), I recently ( december ’09 ) sent a letter to the creditor via certified mail ( have reciept ) requesting an investigation into this debt.

To this day I never recieved any proof the debt is mine, until last week ( march 15th ) a Sheriff’s Deputy showed up on my doorstep and served me a judgement. I’m being sued for this debt by an attorneys office, my question is if I decide to take this to court and represent myself in small claims, would this be a wise choice? Or should I just settle this out of court and be done with it?

I’m looking for advice, no real legal council here, I’m not sure how much I can hold up against an attorney, also was I in the wrong to send the letter to the original creditor and not the collections agency? I thought by federal law under the FCRA they HAD to respond withing 30 days to this investigation.

Please advice, I’m in a bind here, thanks.

Recently I had to unknown unexpected collections pop up on my TU file and I have disputed those. I never recieved a dunning letter for eithr one of them and though that perhaps the listing was posted on my report in error as I have a very common name and it had happened before.

Well now the listings have been posted on EX as well and fortunately EX gives an address identifier code or what ever it is called. Well sure enough the indentifier is for an address I have NEVER lived at. I tried to dispute the information with EX put got the message something like “you can not dispute that information because it was supplied to us by a creditor. Please contact the creditor directly for assistance”

Being that the creditor is a collector in this case and collectors tend to be a holes. How can I prove I did not live at the address in question?

I have lived at my current address for 5 years now and this collection took place during that time frame.

Would a statement from my current landlord work?

Something from the DMV maybe?
