I am a teacher. I was reading my union newspaper and I see a lot of mortgage/lending companies that offer such things as 100% financing and low interest rates. Is this something worth me considering to buy a home?

Also, I am married and my husband works as well (he’s not a teacher). I do have student loan obligations and a few credit card bills and little savings. We are currently trying to better our financial situation and save more.

We are moving to a new place in the next 8 months (rent or buy- whatever we are able to do at the time). If we rent, I know the payment will increase by 300-400 a month since we are getting a bigger apartment. If we can get a mortgage, then I really don’t know….. Anyway, help me out?

I am a single parent currently live in Chicago and would like to move to a warmer climate, less expensive city, better schools, good place to invest in real estate, and of course median to high salary jobs. I have always thought of moving out of state, but a little afraid because I wouldnt know anyone. Most of my family stay in Chicago. I have a bachelors in design and currently teach art and have 8 years experience in mortgage finance and real estate. Anyone know of any really good places I could consider moving to? Anyone know of any relocation programs?

We are moving and selling the first home.
We are in good standing with the current mortgage company.
We have lived here for almost 3 years- we have had two payments that have been a few days late.

Also, will they keep us at our current interest rate?

Okay, our offer was accepted Jan. 9, and the seller’s bank (short sale) said they had a deadline to close of Feb.9. Okay, now, the seller has to make any repairs, and his city inspector’s pos expires on the 24th. So, our realtor is saying if we close by the 23rd, he won’t have to pay the fee all over again. And the seller is fixing those call outs. Our mortgage guy says, yes we can!! lol. But, we really need to know if it is truly possible. The paperwork (signatures) from the seller just got submitted to our mortgagor on the 14th. Is it possible we could be moving this weekend, or are we looking at the 9th of Feb.?
Well, it did in fact take 3 months to hear anything form the bank besides ofcourse the seller actually accepting our offer. Once the sellers’ bank accepted the offer as well, the process begun. What I am asking, is if a bank (ours) can move that fast, from what I understand, the seller’s bank really has done thier part as well as the seller.

Me and my mom are moving from Minnesota to California soon, and are trying to figure out the best place for us to live. Obviously it would preferably be somewhere with a low crime rate, far away from ‘ghetto’ areas, but we also know that in California most cities have good and bad spots. We’re thinking either Orange County or maybe west L.A (because I’ve heard that is the nicest part of L.A?) so it wouldnt be as far of a commute since she will probably end up working in LA. We want to live as close to the coast as possible. Thanks much.

I live in the U.S. In Minnesota. I am considering moving to Russia after I finish my schooling. Is Russia a good place to raise a family? Is the country safe? How high are the crime rates? I’m going to college for Psychology. Would a Psychologist have good job oppurtunities there? Are there any cities you would reccomend?

Please be detailed! Thanks!

We live in a big city, close to my sister and her 2 kids, my Mom and his parents. The places we are considering are 3 and 8 hour drives away. It makes me sad that our 2 kids will be so far away from their cousins, but it would mean having little or no mortgage anymore, a bigger, nicer house (we are rapidly outgrowing our home and can’t afford a larger one where we currently live). We would be able to gets jobs no problem and our quality of life would improve (less crime etc), except that we would be further away from family who we feel closest to. Anyone go through something similar? Can you tell me what you decided and why? Do you regret your decision or are you happy with it?

I have been in my home for 3 years and I need to try and refinance my main mortgage (I have a 2nd as well). October 1, 2007, my ARM rate jumps from 5% to 7%. I have refinanced my last home, so I know the process somewhat, but I am a bit terrified this time around because it looks like even with moving to a fixed in the high 6s, my monthly out of pocket cost is going up about $ 1000. So I am looking for ways to ensure I am getting the best loan possible.

I went to my bank who said that they can get me 7.19% fixed with no points and no closing costs or 6.5% fixed with no points but with closing costs (which will cost me around $ 12,000, but would be wrapped in and financed over the 30 years – ugh!). I am thinking about doing the Lending Tree application but I don’t really want to field 10 different mortgage reps’ calls over the next 3 days. I think it’s worth it if I can get a better deal, though. Right?

Any advice on best practices for this scary process would be helpful.
