I completed a payment plan with NCO financial for an old AMEX debt that was my DW’s…it is reporting a $0 closed and the only entries are NOV 2008 KD and Dec 2008 OK.

Has anyone had any luck with GW with them?

Will removing this increase my score – this is the only collection on my report – I do have a few lates that are 24+ months old that I am working on GW letters for.

Thanks!

I am a first time home buyer who is trying to raise my credit score in order to get an FHA loan.  I have 4 unpaid collections that are more than 3 years old, I keep getting conflicting answers as to paying them off or leave them alone until after my loan goes through. I also have 2 options to be added as an authorized user on a credit card, until I can get my own card. 1 has 3k limit, is 4 years old and is maxed out. 1 has a 500 limit, is about 8 months old, and has a zero balance, both have excellent payment history. Should I use both? Or just one of the cards? Is which one will help the most?

I have a first premier card that served it’s purpose for a while but I’m really tired of paying a 7.00 a month servicing fee and a 48.00 annual fee I don’t use the card at all. The only problem is this is the card with the longest payment history. I have 1 other card that is just about as long and a few others less than 12 months old all of which have never been late. Will closing this card hurt my score or should I just suck it up and keep paying these useless fees?

Thanks,

Tim

I have a CA with Collection Company of America for $525 from a school. I asked the school (who will take payment from me) if they would tell the CA to delete if I paid the school in full. They said no, all they would do is tell the CA to mark the acct. as paid. I did owe the school $135 for unrelated charges that were not associated with the CA and now they are reporting a $135 to them and my CCA CA now says I owe them $390 (525-135). I have tried to PFD the CA but now it seems like I am making payments to the school (even though I’m not). Should I keep on CCA for a PFD? or take my chances to PIF and DV or dispute and hope it falls off. The school is a bunch of morons and I just want this to go away. The CA is only like 4 months old and I know it is really hitting my score. It is the only bad thing on my report. Any help is appreciated!!!

Hey Everyone :)

Question for the credit gurus of myFICO.  I have an account that is roughly 7 years, and 4 months old (DOFD)  The trade line has been deleted from 2 reports as of October 2009, and still sitting on my TU CR.  Should I hold out for another 2 months hoping it drops off, or should I go ahead and move forward with a Dispute – Obselete ???
