I had a company contact me today and said they got my number from my resume posted at Hotjobs. com. The lady said that her company was hiring entry level mortgage processors and she wanted to know if I was interested in an interview. I told her I was interested, and she gave me all of the details. At the end, she said I would have to bring $ 200 in the form of cash or money order for some sort of mortgage processors fee (or something like that). HUGE RED FLAG!! Why would you ever need to bring money to a job interview? Is there really a certification cost that mortgage loan processors have to pay? It all sounds like a scam to me and I’m not going to go to the interview.

Hi, I read that you should pay credit agencies with a money order, but would it be ok to pay with a credit card?

Received a settlement offer that will be accepted.

“Payment is to be made in the form of Money Order, Personal Check, Cashier’s Check, or Certified Check.”

What is the best form of payment to use?  Personal Check would be the easiest since I wouldn’t have to go to the bank but I thought that you should never send a CA a Personal Check.

Any thoughts??

Thanks

Received a letter back from the CA that I sent a PFD to a week and a half ago.  They have agreed to my terms and will remove my four medical collections.  I’m sending a money order first thing Monday morning.  Yay!!!!!!!

So I started pushing last week to clean up my score. I have 3 collections, 2 of which I sent PFD’s Friday 2/19… I received one letter back today saying they agree. Payment being sent tomorrow. Should I send payment CMRR? I am sending a cashier’s check, is that ok or should I do money order?

Thanks again to all of the advice on this site!!!!

I  desperately need some help to make sure that I am handling this situation correctly.  I moved out of an apartment and apparently had a balance for a water bill and damages, the bill was never forwarded to me ($290.49).  In Sep 09 it was assigned to a collection agency, and reported to my credit report.  I DV’d the debt and it came back with proper validation (all water bills, and damage statment from apartment, clearly showing balance owed).  I attempted to PFD and they declined it, refused to accept any terms to delete.  Sent another PFD and it was returned with the same results.

This is one of my last negatives……

Today I went to the old apartment complex, meet with the apartment manager.  She told me that the account was sold to the CA, and I persuaded her to accept payment from me.  I got a money order, wrote it out to the apartment complex, got a letter on there letter head stating that this “balance has been paid in full”.

Now what exactly should my next move be in order to have this collection report deleted from my credit report? Were my actions proper?

Any advice will be much appreciated…..

Hi all!  I am trying to get a mortgage here quick and have a couple of medical collections that have just been verified by the CRA’s.  I am going to get the money orders and send them off with the HIPAA letters shortly, but I had a question about the waiting time.  How long do you wait after sending the money order to send the follow-up letter?  I’m just trying to get this done as quickly as possible!

Thanks!
