Would any bank or credit union finance an applicant for a mortgage with a 567 credit score? I have a positive car note history (no late payments) and a credit card with no late payments. The negatives (4) that weigh my credit history are “charge offs” with a telephone company 5 years ago and a medical bill (collection account). All totalling $ 1,200.

in 2004 we bought our 1st home! we where preapporved for 350k but we went with a home for 180k. We where dumb enough to fall for a 5year ARM that started at 5% payment all together was around 1250 including escrow. Well Two years ago my wife lost her job and took a new one with 35% less pay then little over 1 year ago lost my job. Before we did have saving but that virtually almost drained out 7 months ago then we got a surprise from our BoA our mortgage company a noticed letting us know our new interest rate is 8.5% and our payment is now 1575! We quickly called them up to discuss a refinance and where shut down in a New York Minute because of me being unemployed and the home is worth 120k about 60k underwater. After being shut down the loan officer at BoA was nice enough to tell us to call a number for a loan modification. So I did.
After being on hold for 1 hour I got interviewed by a rep who went over all of my financial, then asked me to fax a hardship letter, with pay stubs, bank statement, credit card statements, W-2′s tax return over 40pages of stuff. He told me 30days they will review and get an answer. 30 days past and called back got interviewed again. This time the rep said nothing we can do I suggest you do the following
-sell your cars use public transportation
-100 dollars for food a month
-yard sales
-take money out of your 401k
-take cash advances from your credit cards

So we got a check from our credit card and deposited in our checking account that dried up quick as we had some large medical bill surface. now we are 15k in cc debt. So we called them again went over the samething and was interviewed and asked to send in pages of documents. We are current but as a result we are getting further in debt.
My uncle is renting his house nicer then ours in the spring for 1k. We are tempted to throw them the keys to this place and tell then to shove there 8.5%.

should we be chatting with a bankruptcy attny.

I need advice on which would be best for me in improving my credit score.

I have a tax lien of $1738.00 and it is elligible for a 12 month payment plan which I have signed up for.  I will have the amount to pay this in full come April 1st however I also have approximately $1600.00 in medical bill collections (6 accounts total) and was wondering which would make more sense in paying?  Should I do the monthly plan for 12 months with the tax lien and use the available monies for the medical debt?

Thanks for the advice.

Recently pulled my credit report and was shocked to see a medical bill still listed with a CA when they agreed over a yr. ago to delete.  When I contacted the CA they said they had deleted and had no idea why it would still be listed on my credit report.  They suggested I contacted Equifax.  Does anyone know if that is what I should do?

My fico’s are on the rise, my baddies have been mostly defeated and I feel that I’ve moved out of that initial where do I go from here phase and am now in phase 2, the aftermath.

My question is, does anyone have any successful information on the following last of my baddies:

Cap One – Charged Off, Sued me, Paid, Settled  2006 – 2010

Chase     – Charged off, paid off, 2006 – 2010

HSBC      – Charged off, paid off, 2006 – 2010

GEMB(American Eagle) – Charged off, paid off, 2005 – 2009

Midland Credit Management – Chase charge off, paid off 2010

West Asset Management     – Direct TV, paid off 2010

United Collections Bureau -  Medical Bill from 2006, paid in 2007

All paid off, and unfortunately they are the last of my items reporting any kind of bad information. Cap One is who I want off the most, they report fine on 2 of my reports, but on EQ they are reporting me as  90+ days late 39 times which I’ve disputed but that is legit.

I would just say forget about it and enjoy being in debt-free bliss BUT I start Law School in a few months and I’ll need to start applying for financing so I can afford the $2000 books.  Any information on possible contacts or strategies that have worked would be greatly welcomed and likewise I would be happy to share my resources as I’ve battled many other companies off my reports to get down to just having these last few.

In 2005 I started my credit repair and for the last 4 and 1/2 years everything has been great…..I even bought a house in 2009…….So today i get an email from my credit monitoring service and I see that a previously deleted entry was added back to Experian….It was a $75 Medical Bill from 2006; PARAGON REVENUE GROUP is the collector however I dont recall if they were the original collector.

Anybody have any advice as to what I should do??

Just had to share my enthusiasm!  Received a call from an OC on a medical bill that was reported on my credit report.  I paid this in 2008 to the OC, but two CA (one for $10 and one for $127) were being reported through a CA.  The OC called the CA and the CRA to get both REMOVED from all three CRA.  She first told me she was going to do it and 30 minutes later called back to say it was all done!  Whohoooo!!!  Hoping to see a bump in the score next month!

I know that there is the hippa process for medical, but I still don’t understand it. Is there another way of getting paid collections off of your credit report? If not can someone please, please help me with the hippa process!!

I just went over my husbands credit reports, and it seems alot has fallen off. There is 4 neg:BOA CC:Paid in full, but with lates, Medical Bill Bal 50.00, OC agreed to pull from CA when paid in full, Medical that was paid on atleast 5 years ago per settlement, and a Truck repo to come off either 3/2011-6/2011.

I plan to Goodwill BOA to see if they will remove all lates(really hoping with this one), Finish paying the medical the OC agreed to pull from the CA, and let the truck sit till it falls off. Is this a good plan?

Also I plan to get all 3 of his Credit Reports again to be sure of what is on it. Last credit reports are from april of 2010.

I am as well dealing with mine, which has alot on it(mainly medical). I will be PFDing them all, and then working out a payment arrangement for my highest medical(2310.00), Does this all sound good?

Thanks

Paid off my last two old badies (They were going to fall off in the next few months or so anyways…) How long do you guys find it takes for them to show the collections paid on your CR? After paying.

Thanks

Oh, one is a medical bill and one is and old electric bill.
