Ok LVNV is still on my CR from an HSBC account I that was charged off 5 years ago.

I know I have two years left but I would rather fight to have them gone now.

Right now thankfully they are only reporting to Equifax but the OC is on all three CRA as a charge off.

Last year since the SOL was up i decided to Media DV them and then send a second request CMRRR and I got the green card back…. NOTHING!

Waited the 90 days or so and then sent copies of everything I sent to Equifax… Got a response back that THEY validated it!!!

What gives? I seriously doubt LVNV has any media to to back up this collection and therefore it should be removed.

I am going to give this another shot but I need all you experts out there to give me some info on how do get the best results.

Thanks in advance to all…

Another media attempt to aggravate citizens. Are we expected to react to this issue as our “European brothers and go into the streets angry with protests? We are in a global economic recession. Everybody can’t opt for the biggest slice of the pie to be served to them. I for one am grateful for the social security that I receive, which is in accordance with what I earned during my working days. I’m forever grateful for Medicare, which provides me with health care options I could never afford, Many of us seniors can recall the depression and we must learn to tighten our belts while we consider what the current wage earners are experiencing; many of whom are not earning wages due to unemployment. Families are struggling all across our nation just to provide necessities, never mind health care. We must behave as good citizens. BE AMERICAN!

The only people deciding this economy is the press.  I live in Michigan and the recession is starting to slowly recover.  I think that the more sensation the media wants to make, the more it hurts the economy and people tend to freak.  Just shut the hell up and let it recover for God’s sake!

I have noticed that we are getting well saturated in half truths and absolute lies that when repeated often enough become truth. Remember the ozone scare, the blame game with the Exxon Valdez oil spill, “humankind-caused global warming”, the BP oil spill, which on later reflection wasn’t as big as the PEMEX spill of 1979, and the dozens of other disasters from which a small group of people became very wealthy. Now that we can’t find the oil from the so-called BP spill that “destroyed all the Gulf Coast environments for years to come”, and we are finding out that the rig that failed was owned by Transocean, staffed by Halliburton with safety procedures approved by a government agency staffed with those who may not have been as technically competent as they should have been with the blow-out preventer that failed built by still another firm.

But the media and Congress seem unconcerned with truth when they have a deep pocket to expose for the legal vultures that now infest our country and feed on every disaster.

I have a friend who had a Discover CC charged off 1/2009. DOFD 7/2008 (other delinquencies, but the 7/2008 was when the account appeared to have gone south permanently). She has been recieving letters (3 of them  - 2 in January, & 1 in March) from this collector. She asked me for advice and I believe it is within SOL because of the delinquency that resulted in it’s permanent status 30/60/90/120 Lates, then C/O.

She has not DV’d the collector, but I do know that she made a payment (do not know how much, I just see it in her notation) 8/2009, but CA (our state) is not a DOFLA state unless past SOL (4 years)…which this appears to be still in (2 years left). Any advice with regard to this situation? I am thinking of advising her to request a Full Media Validation, and (should they validate), attempt to negotiate settlement.

The balance is just over $1600. Original CL for the card was 1000.

Any prior experiences with this collector, or anyone who has dealt with a collector/firm for Discover or dealt with any collector/firm for a CC Company within SOL? Please advise.

Thank you….

Does anyone know if a Full Media Validation is allowed in Illinois?  I checked the Collection Agency Act for Illinois, but I could only find where it stated that only the original creditors name and address is needed for validation.

Thanks,

I don’t know why the media can’t get it through their thick skulls that as a company, you have to pay good employees comparable salaries and benefits of other companies in order to keep them. You need good employees to remain competitive and profitable and can not afford to lose them.

I am pretty sick of reading these stories of some reporter who seems to know nothing of these business dynamics. It is pretty clear they have not done their research.
