ca sent me letter stating they no longer collect for my acct and they will delete. it’s been over 45 days and they haven’t yet. should i contact them by fax and send them a copy of the letter to remind them or should i just dispute it with the cb?

I sent a validation letter out about 2 weeks ago by cmrrr to Arrow Financial and today I received a leter from them stating they no longer collect for this account and they will contact the CB to let them know and have this account removed. I was so Happy when I read that because it was for a collection that was supposed to fall off in March of 2012.
I have a long way to go but I have accomplished quite a bit, I think –(several late payments removed, arrow removed, 1 pfd……still working on 3 other late payments and 1 collection) I am so greatful that I found this forum because I never knew that I could fix some of the things on my cr myself.Â

My score is 502 now but it hasn’t been affected by the removals and stuff yet. I hope it goes up quite a bit though. My goal score is about 650.  I only have my mortgage and my car payment that is a monthly bill reporting on my cr though.  I don’t want to get a credit card or anything like that ( don’t like monthly additional bills). With the progress I am making, I WILL MAKE IT REALITY by nexy year…( I hope)

Hey guys, first post here but I post on other sites. I just purchased my credit scores from TU and EQ and also have my credit reports from them, as well as a credit report from EX.

Here’s the deal: Credit card from 05 (HSBC) I could no longer pay on because I lost my job and literally had no income. The amount was only around $566 total. I missed 5 payments and HSBC assign a CA to collect the debt. I had no money to pay them either. HSBC ende up selling the debt to the same CA which they have been trying to collect on. I verbally told the CA I would pay PFD in full but they wouldn’t budge. I sent a letter 2 weeks ago offering the same thing, still haven’t heard back from them.

I would like to get both negative marks completely removed but don’t know how I should go about getting the negative mark removed with HSBC since they sold the debt and they can no longer collect on the account.

What do you recommend? Was the PFD to the CA a good idea? How should I go about getting the account removed with the OC? Any advice/help/tips is greatly appreciated, thanks!
