I have a paid collection on my report from the Paper shop advertising. I sent a gw letter to ask if they would remove it from reports, then on Jan 19th I got a call from the oc and they said they would remove it and that it will take 30-45 days to come off reports. I called them again last week when it was just over 45 days, they said that there part was done they told the credit bureau’s to delete and was out of there hands now. How long does it take for the credit bureau’s to remove the items? It has just about been 60days since the oc agreed to delete this collection.

I want to pay off my items in collections in full, if I have to, to get them taken care of and eventually better my credit.

What pitfalls do I want to look out for, or what do I want to get from the CA’s and OC’s to put myself in the best postion for the long run?

Keep in mind that I have the money to PIF, and have no problem going that route to get the best result.

These are not medical related bills.

Thanks!

I have about $10K in collections items (about 15 items in total), and want to pay them off in full.  I have a few questions about this before I start the process.

1)  How do I go about ensuring that I get the items listed as paid in full?

2)  Paid in full is the best listing for an item that was in collection, correct?

3)  Will there be a change in my credit score once they are all listed as paid in full? Current score is about 525.

Also, none of these items are medical, and all are within the SOL.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Surprise, high levels of  lead is found in toys and other items in products sold by Walmart and Target.  Could it be that the US trade agreements with China have anything to do with this problem.  I note that no mention is made regarding where the products were manufactured.  When will we learn that in order to protect us and our children, the US should resume manufacturing products in our own country where there is a better than average chance that rules will be followed!?!  It would also help the economy by providing jobs and other revenue.

This might seem vague, but what do lenders value more…your score or the items on your report?  For example, a general mortgate rule of thumb has been 620.  Are they looking only at your score, or can they find a score of 650 and see something in your report that disqualifies you?  What about other lenders like credit cards, landlords, etc…I’m just curious and really trying to figure things out.

So I emailed Bank of America CEO and HSBC CFO and I recieved phone calls rather quickly and both said thaty they could not change thier reporting to the Bureaus. I’m gonna try agian and hope for the best. I’ve read some posts that said the same thing but when they checked their reports the items were gone I hope this will be the case.

This is my first post so here goes.:smileytongue: I am planning to buy  a home in the near future and am working on my credit score. I had a bankruptcy in 2006 and have paid all bills since then on time but I haven’t opened many new accounts. I am currently at 580 with Equifax. I have some medical collections due to dispute with my insurance company, they didn’t pay and I couldn’t pay at the time. I only have 2 credit card accounts and the utilization is on the high side so I am paying those down. Should I try to pay the medical collections or leave them alone? I have heard that many lenders don’t really look at medical collections as long as other items show good payment history. I think I would be better off to put the money toward my cc balances but  I want to be sure I am on the right track. Thanks!

I am working on rebuilding my credit and was wondering which i should do.  A secured cc for $1000.00 or a secured loan for 1000.00 or would it not matter? I need to work on rebuilding payment history and also need to improve my score as I work on other items on my credit report (c/o, old collections etc.)

I received my first PFD today in the mail and an e-mail from  Experian that one of the items I was disputing was deleted from my credit report.  So that’s 2 down and many more to go!

I have to admit that I thought repairing my lousy credit was hopeless, but thanks to all of the wonderful and careing people on this board I see that is not. It is kind of fun in a way really.

Thanks again.

whats the next step? keep disputing? or is that the end of it, and it cant be deleted? This is not about the judgement I posted by the way, other items
