Hello Everyone, nth

I had a 30 day late with capital one in november last year for $4.99 . Due to this and a recent spike in utilization ratio, my FICO was in mid 600s. I am looking for a car loan, so I thought I would ask Capital One if they could remove my 30 day late. I was travelling abroad when this late payment happened. I had never carried a balance and always used to pay to 0 each monthe. I explained this to the Accoutn Specialist(called the number in the backdoor number post from myfico), and she was nice and forwarded me to another agent. She said she is sending a letter to all three CRAs and send a copy to me also.

Two days later I get an alert from Equifax saying one of my account changed. I went ahead and pulled my FICO equifax score and the score jumped to 700 something and there is no negatives on my account. But, my capital one account details says, “Customer disputes the informaiton on this account”. I read elsewhere on the net that this would stop many creditors from approving a loan.

My equifax report still shows that there was a 30 days late in november last year. What is going on here? I talked to a agent today and she said Capital one will return my late fee in next couple of days, and its likely that CRAs will remove this negative.

Will the 30 day late be removed from my account?

Was the score bump because FICO didnt include Cap One becuse its disputed?

Will they remove “Customer dispute this information” from commets once the investigation is complete? How long will it take to compelte the investigation?

Thanks in advance

A few months ago, I pulled my credit report, and found TU reporting 9 120 -day lates on my Sallie Mae loans. In 2004 I was behind on my loans, but took advantage of a Sallie Mae Program to bring them up to date, not report lates, in return for enrolling in auto-pay, and not missing a payment. I paid off the loan in January, 2007. EQ amd EX reported the loans per my agreement: paid, closed/never late. So, I disputed with TU online. They investigated, and 10 days later, updated, removing the lates. I was relieved. Until… A week later, EX and EQ suddenly began reporting the lates! What happened? So, I contacted Sallie Mae. They called me back. I called them back. They haven’t called back. So, like an dispute happy idiot, I disputed with EQ and with EX. To my great dismay, EQ VERIFIED! And now, TU is reporting the lates they just removed after their own investigation! Oh, my god, what have I done? Well, Today, EX finished their investigation. And they REMOVED the lates! They are now reporting Paid/Closed/Never late. So, a statement: I am at wits end here, and have learned a lesson about disputing. And a question: if Sallie responded to EX last, and stopped reporting the history, is there a good chance that Sallie retracted from all the bureaus, and I might see them come off the other CBs soon, too? If not, how do I get EQ to report what they had been correctly reporting? And TU, which just weeks ago had retracted after their own investigation? But mostly, can anyone make sense of this? What the hell have I done???

I filed BK13 in 2004, completed the repayment plan and was discharged in 4/08. Up until the time of filing, all accounts were up to date with zero late payments. I’ve been trying to get my credit reports to reflect accurate information since my discharge. After much time, effort & frustration, almost everything is now reporting correctly with the exception of Chase. They WERE reporting my CC account with them as charged-off in 5/2005 and showing late payments from the time of BK filing until the “charge off”. I disputed with the CBs but of course the dispute came back as invalid and information verified. I then contacted Chase via phone and inquired as to why were reporting my account as such. The rep informed me they were reporting accurately and that’s the way it is. I sent Chase a CMRR letter with copies of my BK filing paperwork including the creditor matrix. Even though they are well aware of their legal responsibilities, I informed them they were reporting inaccurate information in violation of the FCRA and requested an investigation along with a written response of their findings upon completion of their investigation. It has now been 6 weeks since my letter to them. I have not had any response from them. I pulled all 3 credit reports yesterday and I find that now they are reporting late payments every month since the BK with each month stating 180 day late. Obviously this has put my credit scores 6 feet underground and makes any hope of getting a mortgage impossible. I’m at my wits end with these clowns. Whether it is incompetence or willful fraud, I don’t know. The financial damage they are causing me is significant. I don’t know what else to do except obtain an attorney and file suit against them. The time and expense involved of doing that is not a pleasant thought but I don’t where else to turn. Any words of advice or encouragement would be welcome.

Are disputed items used in determining current credit score or are they excluded while the investigation is taking place?

Hi,

I have several medical bills that are reported by two CAs – 1 by Spartan and 4 by Jon Barry & Associates.

I was able to make these payments to the actual hospital and Jon Barry & Associates updated the information on my credit report as paid. However, Spartan has not done this and still shows that I owe $790 to them (only showing in Experian).

I sent a DV to EXP and disputed this debt. The results of the investigation came back as verified, and I’m still showing that account by Spartan with a $790.

Please kindly advice on the proper steps that I should take?

Thank you in advance for any help.

OK, I am so frustrated with Experian right now Icould spit nails, not really, but I am aggrivated with them.

on Sept 29th I sent DBF’s dispute what accounts to dispute and what was wrong and why I was disputed them.

They signed for it on Oct 6th

Dated Oct 8th I get a letter back from them wanting ID verification

I sent that back they got it on Oct 21st

Dated OCt 26th I get a copy of his reports and a letter saying they could not honor his request if he beleives anything is inaccruate to dispute it and state the reason why he is disputing it, I DID THAT in the 1st letter.

11/09/10 I sent another dispute on two accounts that I disputed with the OC and the CA and neither of them had any info to send him and told EX that in the letter I sent.

They got that on 11/16/10

11/16/10 I get a letter back from EX stating that they placed a FA on his reports, DO WHAT?

11/20/10 I sent an email to an old contact there about them not disputing the accounts requested and ask that they be removed because of it and explained I sent all the info they requested yet still my  dispute hasn’t been done.

Today I get a email back asking again for ID veriification to be mailed and for me to submit my dispute AGAIN!

So that is 2 disputes that they refuse to do.

Not one but THREE request for Id Verification whcih I have already sent in

Funny thing is, from the first dispute there are several accoutns that just mysteriously dissappeared and it happned to be a few that were disputed.

What can I possibly do now?

Send them the disputes AGAIN and give them the second chance to fix their screw up when they didn’t finish my investigation in the 30 days they were supposed to the first time?

They screwed up why should I have to submit ANOTHER dispute?

I know what will happen, they realized they messed up and will do it right the second time, why should they get a second chance and I get screwed out of deletions?

I received a letter from out of nowhere from West Asset for a medical bill from a hospital advisng me of a payment arrangement.  First I had never contacted them to make a payment arrangement.  Then I started to receive phone calls, how they got my number idk.  Well after advice from here I sent them a DV letter.  Let me also say that they is not on any credit report of mines, so it isn’t reporting.  I received this letter in the mail yday from them saying the debt is valid.  I’m looking at the date & in my opinion the SOL have expired on this debt, but I may be wrong. Can anyone advise me what to do here?  Since it isn’t on my report I’m not that worried but I’m tired of the phone calls.

I had a negative account on my EQ that I disputed as not mine.  When I got my investigation results, it showed the result of the other entry I  disputed simultneously.  Well I pulled the EQ again and the acct not mentioned in their investigation was removed.

Does this mean they just took it off now to buy time in case they are able to verify it later?  I am not worried about them trying to verify because it is truely not mine.  I am just curious as to why EQ didn’t mention it was removed in their investigation report to me.
