Items I know will go to collections
I have a bit of a dilemma and want to avoid collections hitting my report. I have a large dental bill and my old apartment complex decided to charge me a huge amount to break my lease when I just bought my house a couple of months ago. I did not know of the dental bill until a month ago (or that the insurance had finally paid everything and now I needed to pay immediately) and as far as the apartment goes, they took over a month to give me the summary of charges I owed after moving out. So I have been able to avoid collections for a short minute. I think I have a couple weeks before I would received any kind of notice or anything would be sent there.

I am not sure what to do
Hey All, I am looking for some advice on what I should do. I recently did a credit report and found that I had a collection on my account for 42$ (54$ with collection agency fees.) Apparently the letters got lost when my wife and I moved from Virginia to Oregon for graduate school and our mail was being forwarded to an unreliable in-law for about 4-5 months while we looked for a place to live and did a cross country tour.

Requesting Creditor To Reverse Payment Reporting
I have a Conn's and I was late a few months because of unemployment and only paid partial payments. Well, I remembered I had the unemployment insurance and after going back & forth with them, the ins co finally kicked in and made the payments.

What exactly is a CA legally allowed to have on you?
Just wondering because I received what I assume would be their response to a DV that included: name, social, address (even though it was wrong) date of service doctor, hospital what services were performed all my insurance info, policy #, what my insurance paid etc.

Ambulance ride bill….. question!
Question! In 2005, I had to take an ambulance ride with my daughter to the ER. I was billed for the ambulance ride. My daughter was covered thru her father's insurance. I provided his insurance co with the bill, and the insurance co. reimbursed the amount I was charged, by issuing a check to her father--- you can guess where this is going! I didnt pay the bill because I was under the assumption that the insurance co would pay the ambulance co direct (which they didnt)

medical SOL question/customary billing practices?
Hello, I am hoping someone could help me with a fairly basic semantics question- I received a collections notice yesterday regarding a "Final Notice " doctor's bill received less than a month ago (on a side note, CO law requires at least 30 days notice before being sent to collections) , for an ER visit in May of 2007. Everything I have found indicates that the SOL for medical collections in Colorado is 3 years. However, according to the Final Notice bill, the physicians' group went back and forth with the insurance provider I had in May of 2007 a few times (June 2007, June 2008, November 2009) last trying to bill them November of 2009. Does the SOL period begin from the day medical services are provided, or the day that the health care provider gives up trying to bill the patient's insurance company? From what I have read, CO law requires you to notify the health care provider of your insurance coverage within 30 days of services being provided- no problem, they required proof of insurance before any services were provided. It seems absurd that they would wait so long in between trying to bill my ins. provider-I've tried to look up statutes regarding customary billing practice guidelines or requirements, but could not find any. I was living in CO at the time services were provided, and still live in CO, and have only moved one time between then and now
