Hello there,

I have 8 medical collections for my daughters I just contacted the original creditor of my medical bills and they referred me to the collection agency.  The collection agency is not willing to do a PFD for removal however they are willing to do a settlement of 20% off and stating that it is paid.

If I pay the collection agency can I use the HIPPA process to get the collections removed from my credit reports?

I just found this site and finally feel like things aren’t hopeless.  Most of my problems are medical collections.  I’m reading a lot about the HIPPA process and was wondering is there a site I can visit that has all the steps outlined from start to finish?

Hello again

I am trying to do the HIPPA process with my medical bills.  I was trying to erase a dispute with the CRA (experian and equifax) that i did online. This was done in 2009. The statement says:

Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act).

Does this mean that they verified the dispute? I did not get any information.

If they did not verified it, shouldn’t they have erased it if they did not answer the dispute within 30 days?

I am really confused as to what to do next.  Please help,

Rosa

Started back first part of December with a score of Exp. 612, TU 599, Eq. 597.  Sent out 3 GW letters and none came back in my favor.  Got 2 medical collections deleted that still showed a balance.  Got 4 consumer finance companies deleted that showed late payments.  (I got those removed before reading that I should have left alone for the longevity of the accounts).  Oh well there gone.  Got one CO removed early with a dispute.  Sent PFD letters to 6 medical collection accounts.  Heard back from 1 saying no way.  I did a DV with them and it showed I had already paid it back in 2008.  However,  they will not budge on deleting it from my CR.  I actually paid the OC back in 2008 and the information was sent to CA in 2007.  Heres where I need the advice…..Can I still do the HIPPA or is there any other options.  I have not pulled my numers cause I am waiting on a CO to drop off March of this year.  Also,  on the other 5 medical collections they have 5  more days to respond.  I know I did some off this out of order which may cost me but I did not read all of the forum  before I started.  So for the Newbies please read all the information and ask lots of questions before starting.  As stated so many times everyone on here has been very helpful and have helped turned around many lives and for that I say Thank You!

PS Called AM EX about an account thru an old job which was CO and got lucky.  the CSR said he would delete it from all 3 credit bureaus and send me a letter.  Hope he comes thru.

Looking for information on how to get CR ( Medical collections) removed from my CR.

Wanting to apply for a mortgage but need to get my fico score raised 70 – 80 points.

any help would be greatly appericated

First of all let me say that I am excited, overwhelmed and somewhat intimidated at all the knowledge here.:smileyvery-happy:

I wish I had known about this forum sooner!!! And I also wish I had been more responsible with paying medical bills. Right now my credit score is 626-Experian and 627-Exquifax….not too bad but not good either. I would love to improve/rebuild my credit. I have done just about all I can do minus my nagging issues below.

I have 2 medical bills that I paid in full to a CA. After I paid them, I was wondering why my credit score didn’t move! GO FIGURE! LOL… Anyway, after joining this site and trying to understand this FICO/CREDIT thing a little better, I read somewhere that if you have paid off medical collections account to a CA, then the HIPPA process does not apply? You have had to pay the debt to the original creditor?

Also, I am currently in the process of paying off another medical collection account to a CA…. I’ve only made 2 payments to them. I didn’t know about the PFD, etc or the HIPPA process until this week. :smileysad:  SO in an attempt to reverse or salvage,  I called the OC, and asked could I pay THEM instead of the CA. They said NO, because of how long it’s been in collections since 9/9/09…

Is it true, that the HIPPA process does not work if you have paid your account in full to a CA ?? So I do I not have any grounds whatsoever with the CRA , CA, or OC and I will be just stuck with this showing on my CR as a PAID COLLECTIONS.? What to do, what to do……

Any advice or help is appreciated.

Been lurking for awhile, this is my first post!

Pulled all 3 of my free annual reports.  EX and TU are showing a collection account that I don’t recognize and I was hoping someone here would recognize it.  If it’s not medical, I want to do the whole, DV/PFD process.  If it is medical, I’d do the HIPPA/PFD thing.  The CA is AArgon Agency and the OC is Intl. Portfolio / HMA.  I am wracking my brain trying to figure out who this is?

TIA

I know that there is the hippa process for medical, but I still don’t understand it. Is there another way of getting paid collections off of your credit report? If not can someone please, please help me with the hippa process!!

I just went over my husbands credit reports, and it seems alot has fallen off. There is 4 neg:BOA CC:Paid in full, but with lates, Medical Bill Bal 50.00, OC agreed to pull from CA when paid in full, Medical that was paid on atleast 5 years ago per settlement, and a Truck repo to come off either 3/2011-6/2011.

I plan to Goodwill BOA to see if they will remove all lates(really hoping with this one), Finish paying the medical the OC agreed to pull from the CA, and let the truck sit till it falls off. Is this a good plan?

Also I plan to get all 3 of his Credit Reports again to be sure of what is on it. Last credit reports are from april of 2010.

I am as well dealing with mine, which has alot on it(mainly medical). I will be PFDing them all, and then working out a payment arrangement for my highest medical(2310.00), Does this all sound good?

Thanks
