I just caught the tail end of Mr.Obama’s ‘middle class’ focus group, and the wind up speech by Joe Biden. The focus group, which you undersatand is composed of, well, er, middle class individuals. Their findings, recommendations are 3 fold; Student Loan relief, a $500 bonus for contributing to a 401K, and an additional child care tax deduction.

Questions, 1. What incomes constitute ‘middle class’? $50-150,000? And why not those earning less?
2. Would the middle class be considered a ‘special interest group like unions?
3. If there are 300 million Americans, and 200 million work, the government would ‘give’ cash, not a tax break, if they open or save $1000 in a 401K. What if their employer doesn’t offer 401ks, and that could cost America 150,000,000 X $500, or $75 billion dollars.
4. Where are we going to get that? Seems he’s spending again, or buying votes.
Finally, Biden used 401Ks and IRAs interchangably. They are not the same, even though the purpose is. Was this a slip, or doesn’t he and Obama know the difference?

And lastly, if Obama calls a focus group together for the middle class, and Unions, why not ‘seniors’, latinos, blacks, Poles, the super rich and plain old rich?

Of course any group he calls together will tell him what they want, but that’s not the way to run government.

Finally, on the matter of student loans. Many are set up for 10, 15, and 20 years. To restrict payback to 10% of the balance, puts the payback right where it is, 10 years, plus interest!!! Or, no change to student loans..

This is nothing more than the old Louisana, Nebraska and union sell out.  Just another twist on buying votes.

It’s almost comical, I switched off between CNN and Fox news yesterday, and Massachusetts and Haiti shared the spotlight.

Not once did CNN mention the anger/angst of the back room dealings, with Nebraska, Lousiana or the unions. The public is upset, buy CNN doesn’t say why.

Obama wants everyone, from Iran, Yemen the unions to love him. And he’ll pay anyprice for your vote.
