I keep on watching and hoping for some kind of compromise, or well thought out way to care for our nation. I have studied the issues and watched the Senate. I hear the comments “Somethings got to give”, “Entitlements must go”, “obvious and provable corruption” at least at the level of campaign contributions, in the voices of a few senators, I hear the heartfelt and murderous statements of many, I see that we are all probably taking part in a process in which one way OR the other we ALLwill probably be duped. Of course we must get out of debt. No one denies that. So who is going to stand up and say, you know this is partly my fault, so I am going to quit taking money under the table, and support the programs which give the best support to our people AND the budget. No where do I hear a humble voice, saying maybe the people have a few ideas we could use, as this Is their country, except for a very few Democrats, unless they are born of total hysterical and senseless anger. I am a bit discouraged at this point, because it isn’t dying that scares me. If I don’t do it to myself, I will go in peace. It is living that is difficult. We the living must edure, hopefully with joy and happiness. I am tired of the banners of the parties waving in my face. I want to have a life to live. That is why it has always been important to me to be a citizen of the country our forefathers left to us. I’ve worked since I was 9 years old babysitting to buy my own school lunches and clothes. When I was old enough for a real job I started paying taxes along with everyone else. while other kids were given the things they needed.  I have done everything from bagging groceries to in home care for the elderly and disabled. I am in a position now in which I need help. I feel sucker punched! I raised 4 children without a dime of government money and sacrificed plenty. I sent my kids to school with home made biscuits and cornstarch jam sandwiches for thier lunch, and hand me down clothes, and was dragged through interrogation of my motherhood by the school because my husband and I didn’t believe our kids should have lunch on taxpayer dollars. We all made it. I am still proceeding by the “skin of my teeth”.My deceased husband was a laboratory technician, trained in the Navy, and after two and a half hitches found out it was a supplemental wage job. Now THAT was a real crime huh? The accusation “if you can’t feed em, don’t breed em” , was with me long before it was stated here. But we did our level best with what we could do, and had unfortunate and rude surprizes, as do many. Did I whine and complain? H— no! I went by the statement “Use it up, wear it out, Make it do or do without!” The meals I cooked were less than yummy a lot, and still are. Wouldn’t I love a menu in which I could actually buy ALL the ingredients I need. But I do not take what is not due to me. I am happy to have enough to get by. I don’t want to depend on anyone except myself, but at this stage, when I can no longer do physical labor, I need help. So crucify me. Just hurry up about it?Who wants to endure more nausea from stress than I ever had with four preganancies? Who wants to be kicked in the teeth for tireless service from my family, while my husband served our country? People these days feel persecuted if they don’t get to have an I POD. I wouldn’t know how to use one, because it is totally out of my budget, as is school, medical care, and a decent diet. Whoop and holler all you want, in whatever direction you want. WE are responsible for what happens to every soul who lives in the US. I paid in just as everyone else. Want to nail me to a cross because I’m old and disabled? That would be a typical ignorant of what IS happening in our government action. LOOK HARD AT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn’t it possible that this hornets nest was stirred up, just to get our attention diverted long enough to make slaves out of all of us, outside of party, and inside of GREED? How much of our legislation is bought and paid for, instead of initiated by public awareness? This could be the LAST wake up call. I am not as angry as I am just plain tired, after 60 plus years. What about you?
It has been over 150 years since American Indians were put in TEMPORARY sovereign lands.
Palestinians were in Palestine almost 2000 years and have absolutely no sovereignty.
Neither did blacks get one single acre for having been kidnapped from Africa 200 hundred years ago. A welfare sate in oreder to keep blacks in perpetual slavery has been created instead and a bureacracy that has an existence on it’s own.
The courts determined that Indians like pupils in a school would have to be educated and incorporated into our system. In the 1930′s they gained the vote, and I think 100 plus years is enough time to graduate.
In some cases, Indians do not regard the state laws which is in violation of the US Constitution which delegates any powers not assigned to the US Government to be delegated to states.
Sovereignty, other than an ambassador is actually in violation of the US Constitution.
In this sate the Seminoles have cleaned house, billions upon billions in untaxed revenue, plus they get paid to boot, and are not subject to federal taxes either.
There is no calculating how much money the Osage, Cherokees and Seminole rake in
almost 200 years after the fact.
Let them keep their land, but the sovereignty should end, and they need to start paying taxes as well on all their earnings, including government handouts.
They lobby the state congress so that they can grab even more, unwilling to let anyone compete against them.
Let’s eliminate the department of Indian Affairs and insist that all untaxed money be used to get the Indian tribes that have remained in poverty up to par and end this once and for all.
All the Indians that were actually affected are pretty much long gone; the remainder, we do not owe one cent, too.
And we are all insane to continue subsidizing this crime.

Â
Hello,
Â
I have been poking around this forum for a bit trying to learn and gain information in rebuilding my credit. I made some stupid mistakes with student loans when I was younger and am trying my best to clean it up and fix my credit.
Â
I recently saw my new scores, which were sitting at 621 EQ, 595, EX, 591 TU. I don’t know how accurate these scores are, but I got them from Bank of America’s Privacy Assist Premier. This leads me into my first question.Â
Â
1. What is the preferred service for monitoring real Fico scores (preferably with monthly updates) and maybe monthly or quarterly updates to the full reports?
Â
My next question is somewhat longer as I have a hard time making sense of a lot of the abbreviations being used on this forum. If you provide explanations, please spell out the words so I don’t have to hunt down abbreviations on Google. =)
Â
I obtained recent credit reports yesterday and wanted to know what I can do about certain things listed within. I hope I can provide enough information to obtain the help of the wonderful people on this board. The things littering my credit report are mostly Sallie Mae student loans. I have a couple lines for a private loan, and quite a few for federal loans.Â
Â
———————
Â
The federal loans defaulted a year or two ago, but I went through rehabilitation for all of them and the loan was recently picked up by, unfortunately, Sallie Mae again. Though GRC (the company I did the rehabilitation through) tells me I will likely only have to make one payment to Sallie Mae before the loans goes over to the government. We’ll see what happens there. I had a couple questions regarding the rehabilitated loans and what is showing on my credit report:
Â
2. All of my credit reports are still showing random things for the 6 federal loans that got rehabilitated:
Â
I have 6 of these dated originally at 11/103 showing as ‘transferred to another office’. It does not list any negative information that I can see, but does show current from this year. Is this the original loans that got rehabilitated? What does ‘transferred to another office’ generally mean (if not literal)? Since these were opened 11/03, can/should I write Experian and have them removed?
Â
Not listed is the current and past due balance. I pasted this info from Excel, and the acct number isn’t anywhere near complete, so I am not worried about deleting it for the purposes of this thread.
Â
The other 2 are showing as Payment Deferred. Not sure if this is negative or positive. They are also from 11/03. Unfortunately, these Sallie Mae accounts are showing as my longest accounts. Will having these lines removed lower my credit length? These 2 are from Experian.
Â
Â
| Sallie Mae | Not Listed | Not Listed | 11/1/03 | 22003XXXX | Transferred | Closed – Reported OK Jan 2011 |
| Sallie Mae | Not Listed | Not Listed | 11/1/03 | 59969XXXX | Transferred |
Closed – OK Nov 2010 + Pymnt Defrrd |
Â
On TransUnion these similar lines are showing with negative information:
Â
| Sallie Mae | $0 | $0 | 12/1/09 | 71000**** | Current | Transfer Showing Del 120+ Days |
Â
Isn’t the rehabilitation supposed to clear these records up on my credit report? The new loans haven’t even showed up on TransUnion yet.
Â
And on Equifax:
Â
| Sallie Mae | $0 | $0 | 1/1/11 | 00032XXXX | Current | Transfer Showing Del 90+ Days |
Â
Showing as 90 days late, but transferred.
Â
I’m not sure what/if I can do anything to update these records in my favor. Any advice is appreciated.

Â
The private loans through Sallie Mae also are sitting as Charge Offs on my credit reports. I tried to contact them and the collection agency involved at the time to make whatever plans I could to make payments and pay the loans off, but Sallie Mae refused to talk to me and the collection agency refused to let me go into payments, instead asking for an ~$18k lump sum payment, which they swore I had access to based on information in my credit report (will get to this). Needless to say, no agreement was reached regarding the private loans and they have been sitting dormant on my credit report. I am unsure what to do about this part.
Â
I seem to be seeing contradicting information between my credit reports on these 2 loans:
Â
Equifax shows them as being opened on 02/06 and 09/04, but TransUnion shows them as being removed in 2014 and 2015. Isn’t that way past 7 years? I doubt I can do anything about these as the charge offs are closed already.  Allied Financial ended up getting these accounts, but I sent them a debt validation letter, they sent it back incomplete, I never responded, and I haven’t heard from them since. Not sure if I should do anything else regarding that.

Â
3.  I had a checking account with Union Bank a while back. I closed the account and the person closing it must have failed to tell me that I owed them $100 for god knows what (maybe overdraft charges). I didn’t find out for over a year when I checked my credit reports, promptly paid it, and it has been sitting as ‘Paid after Charge Off’ on my reports. Is there anything I can do to get these removed? TransUnion shows one version of it dropping off May of this year, and another version dropping off September of next year.
Â

Â
4. My Experian credit reports has 2 revolving AMEX accounts totaling $20k limits due to some error. These accounts have always been paid on time and the balances has never passed 25%. When something is charged to it, they are paid off. I should probably have these removed correct? Unfortunately, this is showing as the longest account on my Experian report.

Â
I am doing what I can to clean up my credit report up until now. I opened an Orchard Bank unsecured card ($320 limit), haven’t put more than $100 on it, and pay it off monthly. This weekend I am going to my new credit union and opening a secured Visa with them for $1k, which can be moved over to unsecured in 6-12 months. I am much more financially stable nowadays and would like any advice I can get into cleaning up my credit more than I have. Like everyone, I would like to get married and buy a house someday, and I don’t want anything negative in my credit reports when I want to.
Â
Thank you all for your time. I apologize for the length of this post. I can also provide any other information needed if requested.
Â
Â
Ignore this. I couldn’t delete it.

Ok so my sister defaulted on a student loan. Apparently she has already tried to rehab it and wasn’t able to finish the program. So now the collection agency want’s 18,000 all at once or their going to garnish her tax returns and pay check. They won’t take any kind of monthly payment plan. She’s a single mother doing it all on her own with no child support and no help from the government. Is there any other way to fix this or is she just supposed to let them garnish her pay? I know you can only rehab a student loan once but is there anyway other way fix this?
I guess Government knows best who should get credit and who should be denied…..we are far to stupid to determine that on our own.
Â
I imagine their may be quite a few husbands happy with the new rules….no out of control spending….and no way for the little woman to establish a credit history on her own and possibly leave them.
Â
Unintended or Intended Consequences?
Â
Â
Â
No income? You could be denied under Fed’s proposed rule
“Should those who do not earn independent income, but very likely have access to a spouse’s earnings, be able to have a credit card in their own name? Should there be any special limits on cards for those without independent income?â€
Â
Â
I asked those questions because the Federal Reserve has proposed rules that could prevent stay-at-home spouses without their own income from getting a credit card. Current rules allow issuers to consider an applicant’s household income, but the proposal would force issuers to focus on each person’s income source. The rules would come into play before opening a new account or increasing the credit limit on an existing account.
Â
While the Fed is looking to implement a sound system — the proposals would clarify prior rules that implement the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 — some observers worry that this proposal goes too far.
“We are concerned that the board’s proposal will hamper a stay-at-home mom’s ability to establish her own independent credit history by applying independently for a card,†according to a letter from Democratic Reps. Carolyn Maloney and Louise Slaughter, both of New York. “Many stay-at-home moms have a strong work history, yet the proposed regulations ignore their demonstrated credit-worthiness because of their lack of current market income.â€
Â
Maloney and Slaughter, who played key roles in the creation of the credit-card law, said the stakes could be particularly high for those in abusive relationships: “Women trapped in abusive marriages may be unable to work due to a controlling spouse, a hallmark of relationships characterized by domestic violence. The availability of an independent credit card may represent her best chance at establishing independence and a path out of a dangerous relationship.â€
Â
While the Fed acknowledged that the proposals could affect consumers whose sole source of income currently is a spouse’s income or assets, the agency said it is focused on establishing safe standards.
“The board has previously concluded that it would be inconsistent with the intent of the Credit Card Act for a card issuer to issue a credit card to a consumer who does not have any income or assets,†according to a public notice from the Fed
The below URL is revelaing as to how the financial power brokers benefit from TARP when selling a “short sale” to the public. If this is what the Feds intended it is a disgrace. If this is an example of big government programs leading to unintended consequences it is a disgrace. Anyway you slice it is a disgrace. And as a conservative independent registered voter I am a strong proponent of a free market system. But when the government intervenes – Katy bar the door!

record profits.. clearly unhindered by that big bad awful government intrusion, and clearly a bad economy didn’t deterr them. will they share with the little guy now?
will they give back?
will they give some jobs?
Â
NOPE.
Â
bow to your corporate masters america… but stay real afraid of the government right? they’re after your money.. but you’re safe.. you already gave it to these guys..
I’ve decided to run for president. My first official act will
be to nationalize Walmart. I won’t change a thing except
they will be mandated to buy at least 51% of all their
products from American manufacturers.
Â
End of unemployment.
End of China’s political strength.
China’s military build-up and space-race are immediately de-funded.
Â
Any questions? Oh, I can’t do that? If the government can take over
GM, the banking industry, the entire health care system, and
our educational system and we get nothing in return
for this, then I don’t think anyone will complain about the
Walmart takeover in light of the consequences.
Â
My second act will be to take 10% of the return on the Walmart
“investment” (estimated to be 10 trillion dollars over 30 years)
and start the American Shale, Gas, Coal, Oil and Nuclear
Investment Act and defund Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and Russia.
Â
Between the Walmart Act and the Energy Act, there won’t be
enough people to fill these jobs, so ALL the Mexicans can stay.
Of course,Â
with citizenship, they will have to pay taxes and get used to the
decrease in benefits, but… what the hell, they will
be Americans.
Â
With cheap energy and no unemployment the auto and housing
industries will boom, completely revitalizing all the ansillary
manufacturing necessary to sustain them. By this time we will
be in a negative equity of available workers and HAVE to export
some of the jobs BACK out, but at least it will be on our terms
this time.
Â
Of course, our educational system will have to be ramped up
to accomodate a more productive workforce, so we will be
discontinuing social studies, humanities, gender equivalency,
climate change indoctrination, and all American Imperialism
Awareness classes.
Â
My final act will be to establish a new holiday. It will be called
the Walmart Economy In Reverse Day, or  WEIRD for short.
Every one will celebrate the day that Walmart starting doing
for America what it WAS doing for China.
Â
Good night and God Bless us all.
Bank foreclosures last year reached over one million nationwide. This year economists say foreclosures will exceed last year. What do you think the government should do?
Â
