Hello all,

Thanks to all the help from the forums I have been able recesistate a half dead credit score, and now I need help again. My scores have been the same for the last couple of years give or take a few points. I was wondering if anyone had some advice to help boost my scores up. Here’s a my situation:

Orchardbank Mastercard 2005- 1600/ 300bal statement hasn’t cut yet, and I made a payment today

Orchard Platinum Visa     2007- 1550/ $0 bal

Capital One Visa               2007-  1050/$0 bal

Macy’s charge card           2000-  1500/$0 bal

Amex Zync                          2010-         $0 bal Opening this card didn’t lower my score either

There are no inquiries on my TU report. On my EQ report there is 1 from sept and dec of 09 and 1 from mar in 2010. There is one baddie showing from 2004.

Good evening everyone,

This is one of my first posts to the forums. Nonetheless, I have actively sought out advice from the forums and have been able to bring my scores up from low 500′s to mid-high 600′s over the past year and a half. My current scores (EQ: 662; EX: 644 and TU:676). My Equifax and Transunion scores were 690 and 696 respectively about a month ago. And now they have dropped due to high utilization on my cards. I had some credit problems back when I was in college. I have been out of school for three years now and have worked diligently to perfect my credit. I no longer have any negative information on my reports with the exception of a collection account and misreported judgment on Experian (working on getting this deleted). Most of my accounts were opened within the past three years and have relatively low credit limits– one account for $6,000 and the rest $1200 or below.

My goal is to pay off my credit card with the highest APR by next April (by more than doubling my monthly payments), while significantly lowering the balances on my other cards by January. By December/January, I anticipate my scores to be at least 700. Once I pay off my credit cards, should I ask for an increase in credit limit on these cards or apply for a better credit card or two? In addition, what are some suggestions for maintaining a good FICO score once I get there? Many thanks!

Hello, I am new to trying to rebuild and learn about credit. I have printed my husband and my credit reports and went through them with some first hand knowledge I have learned from the forums. I have a few questions that I hope someone will be able to answer. I appreciate anyone’s help with answering my questions.

1. How do you go about removing items that have reached the 7 year mark? Are there sample letters to use to remove items? What information should be included?

2. I am looking for a secured credit card to help rebuild my credit. I did a search on myfico and came up with three secured credit cards. Does anyone have any suggestions for what they believe is a good secured card that reports to the bureaus and allows credit increases at least to $2500.00? I would like to be able to be on the same card with my husband also.

3. Has anyone done business wtih First Premier Bank, Salute Visa, or Webbank and the collection agencies Jeffersncp or Genesis? How are they with accepting PFD’s? I have really late accounts with them but want to pay them off and get them deleted. Can I get a PFD for a collection?

4. I have seen a 50 point increse in Equifax and about 20 for TransUnion within four months without doing anyting. If I have medical bills that are four and five years old, should I just wait for them to drop off in two years? I want to buy a home in five years and I am trying to work on my credit now.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
