Just wanted to add another quick post to the RJM Acquisitions success stories that I’ve been seeing around the forums.

I made some impatient mistakes on this one and still managed to get a PFD on only 39% of the original balance of $1650.  Here’s the story:

$1650 on an overdrawn and closed Washington Mutual checking account and still 6 months inside of SOL.  I should have waited until I was clear of SOL but I was excited from some of the things I’ve read on the forums about RJM (namely, that they are really easy to work with).  I sent an email DV to two addresses I found from googling “RJM Acquisitions email” and received a response 2 days later verifying the debt and suggesting I pay the full amount.

I immediately responded with an emailed PFD offering $650, and received a settlement confirmation PDF indicating that they will delete all negative reporting once they receive my payment of $650!  Couldn’t have been easier!

I’ll update with more info once I make the payment.

This is my second message on the forums and I still getting the hang of it, so please bare with me.  I have 3 charge-offs from 2005. All are paid but unfortunately I do not have receipts or documents showing so.  My question is….should I send a goodwill letter to try and get them removed, or should I just leave it alone?   I am trying to buy my first house in August and want to get a boost in my score. I was told by a mortgage banker that I should leave them alone if I don’t have proof that they were paid.  I’m in GA and don’t really understand the SOL either.

Hi everyone!  I’m trying to be more active in the forums because of the amazing information available here.  Before finding the forums I never heard of or thought of sending a pay for delete.  I have the link to the sample letter that starts with stating, “This letter is to inform you that the validity of this debt is disputed”.  If I know the debt is valid, then should I still state the debt is disputed?  If not, does anyone have a sample PFD for a valid debt?  Thanks so much!!

I was asked today if I knew what happens to a Collection which falls off CRA’s after the 7-71/2 year period.

I do understand that they still stay with your CRA’s file forever from what I have read with-out impacting your 7 year present history and scores and that was what I have told him.

Then he asked what happens after it is removed from his report and he wanted to make good on paying it off? Would it be reported again? Would it show as a negative? What would be the proper way to go about doing this?

I have no clue, nor have I found anything on this in the forums (not saying it isn’t on here somewhere) just I haven’t been able to find it or run across this type of question.

When in doubt I have always tried to look up information from this forum which has been of great help in the last few years. But to no avail I haven’t found anything in regards to this. If any one has any insight, knowledge, and or experience in this it would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you all for all the information and help you offer to every one on these forums.

Hi, I’ve been observing the forums here for a while now and am hoping to get some assistance on what steps I should take. My Experian score is 586, ewww – and I’m including a breakdown of what’s on my credit.

My husband and I are serious on buying a home. Our rent is $750, never late, and we could buy a home for 45,000-60,000 which would be half our rent even if it had a bad interest rate.

Sidenote – I am working on paying down my revolving accounts and get my utilization in better standing. I am not charging anything, and haven’t for the last 2 months.

I own my debt, and am working on not letting my debt own me.

Hello all,

Thanks to all the help from the forums I have been able recesistate a half dead credit score, and now I need help again. My scores have been the same for the last couple of years give or take a few points. I was wondering if anyone had some advice to help boost my scores up. Here’s a my situation:

Orchardbank Mastercard 2005- 1600/ 300bal statement hasn’t cut yet, and I made a payment today

Orchard Platinum Visa     2007- 1550/ $0 bal

Capital One Visa               2007-  1050/$0 bal

Macy’s charge card           2000-  1500/$0 bal

Amex Zync                          2010-         $0 bal Opening this card didn’t lower my score either

There are no inquiries on my TU report. On my EQ report there is 1 from sept and dec of 09 and 1 from mar in 2010. There is one baddie showing from 2004.
