Good morning, I have had a recently discovered issue.  We’ve been using Family Credit Management for 4 years now.  They’ve done a good job so far – until apparantly last year around June.  Last March dh had a lay off for one month and this led to us being one month behind to FCM.  They were handling 3 creditors at the time (when we started we had 11 creditors under them!).  The three were Target, Chase, and Sams.

We worked closely with FCM and got caught back up inside of 8 weeks (including the missing pymt, so we were ‘all’ caught up then).  That was approx June by then.

We went along like normal all year after that, and I didn’t have anymore late payments to FCM which meant (or so we thought) the 3 they were managing were getting their pymts on time too.  Part of what happened is my fault, but part of it I believe is someone else’s – I need opinions please.  What happened was a week ago I pulled our FICO scores from this site as well as ordered us each the 2 reports available from here.  I was SHOCKED to see that Target has been consistently reporting us as being 60 days late every single month since June.  It appears as if we’ve been behind on every month by 60 days!  But we were paying FCM and thought all things were good.

Naturally I called FCM and said WTH?  We utilize this company in order to prevent this type of issue.  I’m so frustrated right now.   So she takes a look at it and basically scratches her own head and says she needed to call Target to see what happened.  Then she calls back and explains that the guy she spoke to did say that our account was ‘supposed’ to get re-aged after the make up payments were made back in May/June timeframe but that *HE* didn’t even know why it hadn’t happened so he said he’s going to ‘fix’ it now.  Here’s the kicker — he said he’s only going to be able to make repairs back to November.  So that will mean that every month from June-October will still reflect the 60 day late thing!  Thats five months!

I told the FCM CS that was not right since we believed to of been caught up (we never deal with Target and only with them) as we stayed in constant contact with them and was caught up inside of 8 weeks – so we had no reason to think anythiing was wrong.  I mean, we would of happily paid anything Target wanted us to, if only we would of KNOWN about it.  Also, the other two – Sams and Chase- had no lates marked out on them.

So, the part where I accept blame is this:  we no longer get paper statements from Target and around a year ago something happened with our online log in for Target so I haven’t been logging in since I didn’t have the new PW.  Thats my fault completely.  Had I been either logging in or getting paper statements then I would of seen that we were 60s late every single month.  Our reports also clearly show all other payments are completely on time and haven’t had any lates in 3 years (even back then it was only one 30 day one) until you suddenly see all these red marks from June to present as all 60 days lates for Target.

I’m really frustrated and it seems FCM doesn’t wish to accept any of this on themselve or want to really work too hard to help us get these wiped off Target’s reports.  Sigh.  What can I do?  Thanks, Lisa

Just getting to get control of my credit score in a positive way. I want to improve my score the fastest way possible. I want to do this the right and legal way, because me having a low score 598TU is my fault, and my fault alone. I have 2 cc charge-offs that have been closed. Is there anyway too get those off in the near future, and also have a vehicle payment that has not been late 1 time in 3 years. I also have 1 credit card that I pay off every month except for about 5-10%.

has anyone ever had chase to delete any late pays? i tried unsucessfully over the phone. the accout is still open.

to be honest the late was partially my fault. they gave me a defferment back in 2008 during hurrincane ike,and then

everthing went down hill from there. but then they said since the made a mistake, the gave me 0% for 5yrs. so i trying to figure

out if i should dispute it with the cra. any advice anyone?

Hello everyone,

My question to you all is…. if i filled bk in 2008 and my student loans creditor name appear on the list can i have the lates removed from previous months before bk  removed?..I’m aware that student loans don’t get discharge, but before i filled bk i had some lates, not my fault (long story) and now i want to use bk to get therm removed is that even possible. Thank You

I filed bankruptcy in May 1, 2007.  My lawyer supposedly reaffirmed my 1st and 2nd mortgage but it did not go through.  The reaffirmations are recorded in my bankruptcy paperwork as being done.  It did not get done and they want to blame me for giving them the wrong addresses to two of the biggest banks B.O.A. and Chase.  They said it is my fault and I would have to pay them to reopen it to have it done.  I sent a letter and then a certified letter to the main partner of the firm and he never replied. Through my bankruptcy, this firm kept losing my paperwork and I had to keep supplying them with copies and it even happened again at the hearing in front of the judge.  I also spoke to the two banks and asked if they received the reaffirmation requests and they both said no.  What are my options here and what should I do since this is not my fault.  I kept paying on both mortgages and have never missed a payment but my credit reports remain that both mortgages are still bankrupt.  My credit score remains at 672 and I am sure it would be over 700 by now if I had those 3 years of payments included.  Thank you for your opinion on this matter.

I recently pulled all three credit reports and finally disputed a collection item that had been on my credit for at least 5 years. It was a medical bill for an auto accident that was not my fault and the insurer should have paid. The great news is that all three bureaus removed the negative item.

My fico thru Equifax was 726 as this was the only negative item on my reports. Will this improve my credit? If so, how fast? What type of jump in score should I expect to see if any and should I repull my credit anytime soon?

My wife and I are in the process of buying a home in the next 6-12 months. Thanks for the feedback.

So I’ll admit I’ve had many credit dings in the past 5-6 years that were my fault.  I’ve paid them all off and some are still on my CR while some I got PFD.  I didn’t fight any of them through disputes as I’m the first to admit it was all my fault.

The one thing that I need to dispute is a judgement showing up on one of my CRs that isn’t mine, but my father’s who I share the same name.  I’ve found the court records online that show he was sued and later he paid it in full.  The only thing is the court records don’t give any information other than first and last name, no DOB, SSN or anything that would identify it as him and not me.

My LO says it has to be taken care of before we can get an approval for a home loan, but it was acceptable for the preapproval so we can start getting our house built.  We aren’t expected to close for another 4-6 months.  We haven’t signed the contract yet but should in the next 2-3 weeks.

The plantiff was WFS Financial Inc, which I’ve found out was bought by Wachovia sometime in 2006 and now might be owned by Wells Fargo after they bought out Wachovia.  The lawyer that represented WFS was pretty local to me but I can’t find anything more about him so I don’t know if he is still practicing in the area.

This morning, I stopped in the parking lots of Wal-Mart for my car to go shopping in some of the body from the front hit my car away. Please someone can help me weather I want to tell my insurance company or not. I have my car completely covered, but I fear it will then increase my insurance. I live in Kitchener, Ontario.

I live in Texas and a year ago, after the end of a low-speed vehicles involved in accidents. Their claims, but did not. I have the premium rate has not increased. Today, I hit the ice from behind. Vehicles, jeeps, moved away, I want to get my strength and rights in order to avoid another vehicle collided. I have not received their plaque. I had to file with my insurance company. Will be in my car prices? And it will be different, if my car had been hit in a parking lot without my presence?

They also want me to sign the medical certificate issued. They tried to skip a payment. Were rejected in my doctor, when I gave the information that hospital? I would contact a lawyer? My account is 8000 and car insurance, which is playing in half to resolve. How can I do?
