Just getting to get control of my credit score in a positive way. I want to improve my score the fastest way possible. I want to do this the right and legal way, because me having a low score 598TU is my fault, and my fault alone. I have 2 cc charge-offs that have been closed. Is there anyway too get those off in the near future, and also have a vehicle payment that has not been late 1 time in 3 years. I also have 1 credit card that I pay off every month except for about 5-10%.

My Transunion Score is 701 and Equifax 679 as of today (they were higher until a goof by wells fargo last week that has since been resolved, but not yet reported)

Anyways I have:

A mortgage with $151K balance – never missed a payment

Amex – paid off every month

A few utility/cable bills – never missed a payment

I have applied for a few cards in the past few months but been denied, I think they were Chase Cards, I guess because I dont have enough or high enough credit.

I want to build my score and do it fast. It has been stagnant around 700 for about a year. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Any advice or thoughts on what I can do? Is the Amex helping or hurting me? Thanks.

I can’t SEEM TO CUT A BRAKE LATELY!! I had some CC about three years ago and they where charge offs Some   collection companycut a settlement saying PIf 0 balance.

First Premier Bank Aventium card.  Granted this card is about as bottom feeder as it gets, $75 app fee, $95 annual fee, $300 limit.  Along with an interest rate that would make Tony Soprano feel guilty about charging.  However, I can have a positive tradeline report to the bureaus now.

ETA: To make best use of this, how much should I charge on it per month, and how much should I pay off every month?  I’ll drink whatever juice it takes to get to 700.

Does anyone know when the credit bureaus update the information on your credit report?  Is it every month or only when the creditors report a change in status / balance / late pays etc?  Also how quickly are the updates seen by the consumer after the change is made on your report?  TIA

I’ve been in my student loan rehab for 22 months on my 9 month agreement.  I’m unsure if TSAC (the guarantor) is reporting correctly.  Should they still be reporting as 120+ days late every month, even though I’ve made 22 consecutive payments?
