I was going to just offer a PFD to get it over with (my credit profile is looking the best it probably will for the next few months, as I’m remodeling a house and will likely be moving a lot of money through my cards), but tried the DV letter first, even though the debt is over 6 years old, and has been bought up by a junk debt CA.

Should I dispute it, or should I just fax a letter offering a PFD? If disputing makes for a strong case at this point, I’ll try it, but man, I just want to see the thing gone, and its worth paying the $326 balance to see that happen.

Thoughts?

P.S. Normally the dispute would have been the first thing I’d have done, but reading through the boards it seems its not a very popular thing to do…

I had a CC that charged off in 2006.  It was then sold to Titan Recovery Group.  Then a new company bought the original CC company.  I paid someone what was owed on the charge off but do not remember who it was.  Fast forward to today.  Titan Recovery group has gone out of business.  The new CC company says nothing they can do because the debt occured with the 1st CC company.  However, they will delete it if I can show them it was paid even though it is reporting a 0 balance.  Without even a clue where to look for my paperwork back in 2006 is there anything I can do?

Hello forum,

About four days ago I sent out a Orchard Secured Credit Card application which I’m very excited about, however I want to know what else can I do to boost my score a bit.  I currently have one retail card from Macy’s with an embarrassing $75 dollar spending limit (I know its ridiculous) and 5 act’s listed as negative on my CR, even though on November 30th I have a automatic payment posted to pay a CA, which hopefully after receiving letter saying Paid in full I can send that to the credit bureaus and get a tradeline deletion.

What other steps can I take to play around and jumpstart my credit score?

Thank you.

I am officially in the 600 club – 612 as a matter of fact!  AND I could NOT have done it without all of your advice and support!

I still have some more baddies to go but it feels good that I am 8 points away from being able to qualify for a mortgage (even though I would like a score in the 700s to get a better rate)!

I cannot express how great I feel!

I just finished working with someone that impoved my reports greatly, though at a cost.  I am not interested in 2 companies to help finish the job at a fraction of the cost.  Has anybody used these companies?  Good/Bad?  I just talked with ecreditattorney and the lady sounded very scripted and not that informative to someone that has already been working the credit repair process.

I have a few items, one being a tax lien on TU that won’t go away, even though I have proof that the lien was void and not paid in full. (So it shouldn’t have even been there)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an old CO account from Target National Bank, the date of last payment was 05/2008.  I pulled my credit reports and it is showing as closed/charged-off.  I am getting notices and calls from CA but they are not reporting to the Credit Bureaus.  I want to get this resolved, should I go back to Target and try to pay them?  Or should I pay the CA even though they are not reporting?

Wow, got my first response back from my first dispute from EQ. Only increased my EQ FICO 2 points from 656 to 658. Kind of bummed but I have about 6 different trade lines with lates, all paid and closed. This was a judgement that wasn’t really a judgement….judgement was issued after I had already paid and it was supposed to be removed but was still there.

Besides my mortgage, I only have 2 open lines of credit, one is a credit card with zero balance and the other is a 2000 line of credit at bank which still shows as maxed out even though we paid it off almost a month ago. Once that is reported, we will see if that gives me another bump. I am working on disputes for my multiple lates.

After 3 months of disputes with CRA and countless emails and certified letters to the bank/mortgage company, my report still shows I was 60-120 days in May and June 2010 on my home mortgage and home equity loans, even though, GET THIS – I PAID BOTH FRIGGIN LOANS OFF IN FULL IN MAY 2010!!

What do I do now? I’m at my wit’s end, running out of patience. I’ve asked the bank/mortgage for a GW deletion of all accounts, and they refused. Should I ask for a GW deletion of all derogs?
