I just contacted the law office holding one of  my judgments.  They are willing to settle for half of the monies owed however will report paid less of settlement (or however they say it exactly) after I pay the agree settlement.

This particular judgment happened January 2004 so if the 7 years removal of info is true then it should fall off my report this upcoming January.

My question is what would be most beneficial for me?  Accepting the settlement since the entry is going to be removed from my credit January 2011 or pay the entire balance so that it shows paid in full?  I do not intend of trying to get credit from this particular company if the future if this is a factor I should consider.

Thanks

like i’m ready to pay the entire balance and collections costs to holloway credit solutions, lump sum if they will agree to delete, they won’t. it’s 1800 bucks!  i’ve been leaning and leaning and trying and trying. technically they don’t HAVe to delete, but i’m gonna do my trying and leaning.

now i’m gonna see if LVNV will delete.  (different debt)

I really wanna just say look “which ever one of you agree to a PFD in writing, is the one that will get this ceritfied check”

as of right now the money is in my savings account getting some interest.  i’ve got a good mind to take it and pay the rest of my car off haha

but i’ve emailed, written letters, even spoken to a supervisor.    I think i’m going to write the owner of that place now.

I have perused the information on these boards and looked elsewhere on the internet, but I am still a little unsure on this.  If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.    I am in the process of trying to clean up my very ugly credit.  I have already sent out a few PDFs and GW letters and have had some success.  I think my next step may be to get a secured credit card to start rebuilding my score.   I’m just a little confused about what would be the best way to use it to help my score.

First off, I can’t afford to deposit much onto the card.  Probably only about $200 at this time.   With this tiny credit limit, would it help me at all?  Is the idea to use the card each month and then pay off the entire balance each month?  Or do I use it and pay off all but a little?     Thanks in advance for any help.
