I will be graduating in the summer and have been looking into the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLFP).  I will be graduating from a doctoral program.  Upon entering the program, I consolidated all of my undergraduate Direct Loans (Stafford subsidized and unsubsidized) with Nelnet.  I currently have Direct Loans (Stafford and Graduate Plus) which are would be included in the PSLFP.  Is it possible to include the Nelnet consolidated loans into this program since they were originally Direct Loans?

My Journey so far. This forum has been wonderful in helping me to rebuild my credit.

MyFico EQ 550

1. CSD collections= 11 medical accounts PFD (very easy, i called them, then went bye office and paid the accounts in full and they were deleted from my CR).

2. TFC collections= 1 account, will be removed by OC (not showing on credit report yet)

3. 2 installment loans paid off this month (not showing on credit report yet) $2500

PROBLEMS; NEED HELP

1. Network Direct: Alpat Collections Account; Charge off (2009) only revolving acct. 100% utilization of revolving acct (myfico). $775.00. What to do? It’s not a credit card, but its reporting as one. Should i pay it off with PFD and then open a secure credit card? Very lost. Will alpat take PFD? OC not reporting.

2. One 60+ days late (network direct)

3. 7 late payment accts. All accts have more than one late payment, but not more than a 30 days late, except Net Dir. Will GW letters work. Toyota Financial (one open and one closed), Conns(closed), Neighbors Credit Union(closed), Goodyear Credit Card(closed), Pioneer Credit(closed), Network Direct (again). Any addresses to send GW letters?

Thanks for all the help.

Hello All!

I was wondering if I could get some advice on my current situation…

I was out of work for most of 2010 – about 10 months to be exact – and needless to say, a lot of my bills had become delinquent and had been sent to collections. I recently began working again, but am making a little over half of what I use to make. Because of that, I opted to make settlement agreements with the CAs, one of which was a company that represented DirectTV.

Now here is the issue I am facing: I recently made a final settlement payment to the CA representing DirectTV no less than a month ago and the CA confirmed that this dept was paid in full and that it will update the Credit Bureau and DirectTV. Just this past Friday, another CA representing DirectTV called me saying that I owed the remaining balance. Naturally, I called the first agency today (I’ll call them CA 1) and told them that the remaining balance was sent to CA 2 asked them if they really did updated the status of my account. They confirmed that their records indicated that I paid my settlement in full and that I shouldn’t owe anything more to DirectTV. They advised me to call them in the event that it might be an error on their part..

The Problem: DirectTVs records indicated that I DID make the settlement payment in full, they SAW IN THEIR RECORDS that it was a settlement payment, but they told me that the settlement doesn’t matter (their words) and they will only look it as a partial payment until I pay the remaining balance. They also told me that they will continue to send my name through however many CAs they need to in order to get this debt paid. I tried my best to explain to them that this debt was settle through their agency, which they already know, but clearing that didn’t sway them.

I call CA 1 back and told them what DirectTV said. They reconfirmed and reconfirmed again that my dept was paid in full and they don’t understand why DirectTV is still trying to collect. They said that they would call DirectTV directly to find out what’s going on and they will try to get the matter settled today and that I shoul call CA 2 in a weeks time to get an update on my status. I asked them (CA 1) if I could have something in writing saying that I did, in fact, pay them and that we did have a settlement agreement, but they told me that unfortunately they can’t send me anything like that legally, and I would have to go through DIrectTV to retrieve that information.

I really need to know what I should do in this matter… Is what DirectTV doing legal? How do I obtain proof that I paid this settlement in full? Please give advise if you can. Thanks in advance.

I have Direct Loans that are on the IBR (income based repayment) plan. It’s my understanding that the payment fluctuates based on your tax filing. Is that correct?

My income jumped pretty significantly from 2009 to 2010 and I’m trying to figure out how and when the payment will adjust up. Does anyone have experience with this and know when I can expect my monthly payment to increase?

Has anyone had any success with using Good will request for late payments with Direct loans??

I have two lates from student loan that were due to both my parents deaths within 6 weeks and two funerals to pay for.  I thought my loans were in deferment, but I was wrong. Would be interested to hear if anyone had any success.

Thanks!

I have a few 30 and 60 lates on my Direct Loans (federal student loans with the US Dept of Ed) that are on my credit report. Has anyone attempted to have similar lates removed, did you have success and how?

THANKS!

Pulled scores on December 07, 2010. TU fico was 606, EQ fico was 602, Ex fako was 566.

So far I have applied for a Capital One secured card, I was approved and the card is in the mail. Also I disputed an NCO CA that was only showing on the Experian report, it was deleted withing two days. I also initiated online diputes with TXU. Today I sent out four Direct Dispute/DV combo letters via certified mail with return receipt. I’ll update any results I recieve, good or bad, and hopefull so improvements in my scores aswell. Thanks for all the information that I’ve been given up to this point and all your help in the future.

So my direct loan is going into repayment in a week and I switch my repayment plan from standard to graduated to make my payments a little lower for the moment as I dont make as much money now as I will in the future.

The problem is that the amount due for this first month is still the amount due for the standard repayment plan even though elsewhere on the same page it says the new “graduated” repayment plan payment amount. Im assuming this will fix itself or do I have to make the first payment as the standard repayment amount for this particular payment and then from then on it will switch over to the new graduated repayment plan amount?

Any info, thanks.
