paid charge off question

Jan 152011

I just paid off a charge off account I had with First Savings Credit Card. I had tried sending a goodwill letter to get them to  delete the charge off if I paid in full. I also tried to negotiate with the rep I talked to on the phone to delete account or remove negatives. I am pretty new to this and am trying to get my credit cleaned up. Is there anything else I might try that I might not have thought of? This was a legitimate charge off. I ran into some medical bills and such and got behind. This account was charged off about a year ago but never went to a collection agency. I have been making payments for the last year and finally paid off today. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

IC System refused PFD…now what?

Sep 242010

Hey all!  Well as I continue my journey to recover my credit, next on my list was to tackle IC System, Inc.  I sent them a PFD letter for the full amount owing, and they refused! Yes I am shocked lol…”we do not instruct those agencies to delete account information once an account is paid.  We notify them when and if you have paid your account and the date payment was recieved”.  What do I do now? I really want them to remove it obviously.  Should I send another PFD letter, or just pay it and let sit on my report as paid? :=(

My Fico says 619… I need a push of like 60 points to get a semi decent auto loan…

Aug 062010

Okay,, here is what I’m still working with.  I have a Kohl’s card($100/$500) and a CU credit card($1650/$2500)

The Baddies…

Capital One paid off- and assortment of 30, 60 and 120 late payments from may 06-august 07(Goodwill letter to delete account)

Kohls – 1 30 and 1 60 day late from april 2008(goodwill email/letter to delete payments)

AWA Collection agency for AAA So Cal – $133(pay for delete letter written)

Verizon Wireless Charge Off – Aug ’05 $233(pay for delete denied 5 times and counting…)

American Express Charge off – May ’06 $2450(Was offered a deal to pay in full and get a Optima with a $600 limit…  twice denied pay for delete)

4 car loans with no delinquencies…

So, what would be your opinion on what to do first?  I have about 2500 I can use for the next 2 months to pay some of this down.

I appreciate it!

Dv’d NCO got Delete but then they sold account

Feb 202010

On Jan 6, 2010, I DV’d NCO and by Jan 19 they sent a letter stating that they closed the account and they would delete. Yesterday, I got a letter from Aegis stating that NCO had placed the account with them for collection. Had no effect on my score but still wanted it gone.

Is this allowed? What gives?

First came the lates, then the DMP…but the question is…

Feb 162010

After I pay off my creditors through my DMP, will I be able to GW them to either delete the account or delete the baddies? Will it help if I make extra payments so they get their full amounts BEFORE they were scheduled to via payment arrangement proposal?

Is it a good idea to delete this closed account?

Feb 162010

I have a closed by grantor account that was closed due to 120+ delinquency in 2009.  I have paid the account in full and it is currently showing paid/paying as agreed but has remained closed.  Is it a good idea to ask the OC to delete this account altogether from my credit reports or do I just let it remain?
