CA account sold to another CA

Hello,

I have an item on my credit report that shows it is a CA(Portfolio Recovery)that shows the OC is Collect America.

PortFolio Recovery

Balance: $881

date updated: 01/2011

original balance: $736

original creditor: collect america

past due: $881

pay status: collection account

account type: open account

loan type: factoring company account

remarks:Â dispute resolved-customer disagrees

date placed for collection: 02/2008

estimated date that item will be removed: 06/2011

I have no idea who this was originally.Â Since this is on my report as Portfolio Recovery, I am thinking Collect America sold it to them????Â Â I know it will be removed 06/2011 but can I send a DV to Portfolio Recovery?Â If they can not provide me with the OC information; would they have to remove information within 30 days so that I dont wait until 06/2011???

Need advice Sending DV and SOL

I have a collection on my CR from RJM Acquisitions.Â It says “date placed for collection” 12/2007.Â The SOL for my state is 3 years.Â My question is do I have to wait until december 2010 to send a DV?
