587 to 632 (WOW)

Paid a collection account in full with OC, no CA involved. The OC said they would report PIF, no balance. (BUMMER)

The OC didn’t report the acct as PIF, they did even better. They reported the acct as paid as agreed, no balance, no past due, closed at consumers request. (WHAT!!)

Now this 1 acct was my only revoving acct with a balance, so it was showing 100% utilization of revolving acct. It also was a 60+ day late.

So when it changed from collection to paid as agreed, it took off my only 60+ days late, and i showed a current credit card payment, and my score went up 54 points.

I still have 2 collections on my CR. Just disputed 1 of them because it was a duplicate that should have bben removed and will use a PFD with the other. Hopefully will be off by the end of April. I’ve sent out 7 GW letter (hopefully at least 1 will pay off), and that’s it. Can’t wait to see the new score when the collections fall off.

Hello everyone.  This is my first post to the forum so please bear with me if I’m rambling…

I had two credit cards with First Premier bank that are in CO status.  I settled both of them last month for 50% of each balance (balances were: $460 and $416).  I now have the funds to PIF.  I need to know if this is a good idea or not.  If I go back to them and request PFD, will they accept it or is it best just to leave it as settled?  I have only have a few open current accounts: deferred student loans and a current credit card with Orchard Bank (Unsecured $300 CL w/ $0 balance).  I have settled two other cc accounts with Capital One GE Money (Walmart).  These 2 from FP are the last cc to be paid.  I also have a few other baddies:

Univ. of Phoenix ($2210.00) – In the process of getting this taken care of through the Attorney General’s office) long story…another post.

3 medical collections-  Total: $2767 (2 of them will be deleted once my insurance co. verified that it has been paid-$1722 total)

1 CO account with Sunbelt Credit for $486  ( I am going to request PFD next week on this one)

I have multiple late payments with my student loans, (in between switching colleges beginning of last year)  they are all current now.

I want to get my scores at a solid # so that I can qualify for a mortgage.  Any suggestions?  Thank you in advance.

I’ve been amzingly productive this month and have to pat myself on the back for all that I accomplished in cleaning my credit up.

BUT, so far the only thing reported are my current credit cards with $0 balances.

It has been I would say 2 weeks now since the last baddie I tackled and had removed, so should I wait to pull my score for 1month? 2 months? I am definately that person who needs instant gratification and I have little patients but that is also due to the constant instant success stories I keep reading where things are removed from peoples records within a week here.

Just not sure if I missed a step, I have not contacted the actual score reporting agencies myself, only the CAs and OCs.

Are disputed items used in determining current credit score or are they excluded while the investigation is taking place?

When I started with you guys, I tried to be steadfast on sending out letters etc, but it became to hard to do it by myself, BUT I am glad to say that these types of letters and disputes do in fact work wonders. I have had 61 deletions (total from all three agencies, includinig inquiries) deleted since January 2010. There are still more, but it is getting there….

Now I know my good debt is high (if you want to call it ‘good’ – student loans and all current credit cards plus car loan), but will my credit score ever get to where I want it to be. The student loans are not going anywhere any time soon, you know?! But the left over baddies, I am confident, will eventually come off.

Right now, my experian (from their site) is 643 and my equifax is 677. I am not sure what my transunion is… will I get their if the other baddies drop, or will my debt keep me low even if the baddies go away?

You guys are doing exactly what these repair places do, but you are saving money. I wish I had the patience to do it myself. Keep up the good work!!!

Getting there, Liz

Hi Everyone,

As my subject explains I successfully completed Chp13 on time in 2007. My current credit score is 702. Most of my BK entries are scheduled to drop off in early 2011 with one (oddly) dropping off in October 2011.

My only debt is my house (89K) valued at about $210K. I have one credit card with a limit of $2,800 and I carry no balance. I use the card regularly but I pay it off each month.

My income is well over $100K/year.

I would like to know what to expect under the following scenarios:

1) Auto Loan – I’d like to purchase a new or certified Toyota Tacoma truck. I would put down as much as 20%-30% if needed.

Do I need to wait until the BK entries drop off in order to get conventional financing at a decent rate?

2) Home Purchase – I would like to sell my home and buy a smaller energy efficient home. I would expect to put $100K down and finance around $80K over 20 years. I would like to consider this in 2012.

What challenges will the past BK bring? What can I expect?

3) Home Improvement – Or, instead of #2, get a home improvement loan of about $50K  (over 15 years) and make my larger home more modern and energy efficient.

What are my challenges in getting the home improvement loan?

Thanks for you input.

Hello,

This post is for my girlfriend, who has bad credit. She currently has 4 negative on her CR. She has collections accounts and no current credit card open. What should she do about the negatives? Should she write some letters? If so, which one and where can we find it? The high amount that she owe is $1800.

Thanks for your advice in advance.

My current credit score is 698 and I’m in the process of paying off my $35,000 credit card debt.  I know this will help, but I have a I have a “Settled—less than full balance”, for an American Express Card I no longer have.  I could go into all the gorey details of a past employer who pretty much screwed me and I’ve been persuing legally to no avail.  Anyway, when will this statement come off my report?  Is there anyway to get it off sooner?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
