My husband makes money good enough and we are trying to restore our credit by making payments on a car. Most things on our credit reports are credit cards for old, had minor limitations and medical bills. We live in a mobile home right now that is a purchase for the program, but the lender closed and sold to another company and they say they know nothing about it. The real credit is the sister of my husband’s name, but we all payments and even taxes every year after. We also provide insurance for them. I do not know if a lender would look at home this information when we try to appy for a mortgage? We also considered possibly owner financing homes, but we want to live in a rural area and have some size and I do not know if many people their homes like this in these areas are for sale? I hope someone can help me.

Newbie here cleaning up my credit and trying to get into a home purchase eventually.  My house was foreclosed about 2.5 years ago.  I have pulled my 3 credit reports from EQ(609), EX(639), and TU(713) by signing up on their web sites directly.  Trying to clean some thing up I notice on my foreclosure from EQ has the status as 120+ days past due and not foreclosed.  The comments state the Foreclosure process is started.  The Scheduled Payment Amount amount is not correct and the account number does not come close to matching the loan number I had.

The EX credit report shows the Foreclosure starting when I stopped payment and not when the home was actually foreclosed.  It also has the same account number as EQ which is way different than the loan number on my paper work.

The TU report shows the same wrong account number, same wrong monthly payment, a different opened date (by a few days) than the EX report and the payment status as Late 120 days.

My question is for the EQ and TU report that show 120+ days late does the credit report show it as foreclosed?  Is it worth trying to dispute if I can show my payment was $ 50 more than what they have?  Do I dispute online or via mail?  I would appreciate any advice, I have about 12 negative items on my report from 30 days late to 1 item in collections mostly from 06-07 and the foreclosure from 09.

I was in school when I had filed. Now I want to begin the process of getting my credit score back to about 700 to 750 range. What is the quickest way of doing this?

Can someone give me website for a credit card that’s given to people with poor credit. Im not too concerned with the interest rate b/c i plan on paying it off monthly, but i would like no annual fees.
Also, I’d like a card where i don’t have to deposit money to use it.

I would like to know what is the best credit monitoring service to use. I want to be able to see my credit scores from all three credit reporting agencies, get alerts when credit is ran, all three credit reports, and be able to protect my credit with a password. Any idea what the best option would be?

Well, I’ve been working on my credit for a few months now, and I’m glad to say that I have gotten 5 collections DELETED off of my credit reports!!! Debt Validation letters DO work!!! I have one more to take care of, Arrow Financial, and I’m sending them a DV letter tomorrow. Does anybody have any experience with Arrow? Good? Bad? Also, does ANYBODY know how to get an original creditor off of my credit report? HSBC says that its not their policy. Any backdoor methods? Any info will help. Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

I have 8 medical collections for my daughters I just contacted the original creditor of my medical bills and they referred me to the collection agency.  The collection agency is not willing to do a PFD for removal however they are willing to do a settlement of 20% off and stating that it is paid.

If I pay the collection agency can I use the HIPPA process to get the collections removed from my credit reports?

This is my first post. I’ve been a longtime reader, just haven’t signed up till today. This is my situation. I recently pulled all of my credit reports and saw that I had 4 charge offs and about 6 collections. Everything is from 2006, so they are well past the SOL in my state (Louisiana). I went through a stupid time in my life when I was drinking a lot and gambling a lot and really didn’t know just how much having bad credit can really **bleep** you over later on in life. I’ve since gotten married and have 2 kids and a baby girl due in august. Anyways, I sent some DV letters to 5 of the collection companies and 4 of them sent letters back saying that they are going to delete them off of my credit report. The 5th one I decided to do a pay for delete. I have the letter saying that if I paid $350 he would delete the trade line. I sent him the money return receipt, and he sent a $0 balance letter back. My questions are these. 1) can they put the deleted accounts back on my credit report after they delete them? 2) how can I get the original creditors off of my credit report? Like I said, everything is from 2006. So I only have to wait a couple more years for them to drop off. By the way, the pay for delete was from a collection agency that bought a debt that is showing on my credit report (the OC was HSBC), can I send HSBC proof that I paid and will they delete it? Or should I just wait it out. Everybody I’ve talked to said to just not worry about it because any debt over 24 months old is not really hurting your credit. Thank you all for all of your help in the past and in the future.

Dear Forum Members,

I had some time to waste today, so I went online to find out if a Collection Agency that is giving me problems is licensed in my state (Florida).  I searched all over, and I could not find them as being licensed in the state for collection activity.

My question is now what do I do?  I assume that there has to be a way of getting them to stop trying to collect on the debt, but is there a way to make them remove the information from my credit reports?

I did a quick look to see if there was a sample letter on the forum, but I did not see one.  Any information or thoughts would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

I finally have enough money to start paying off old old debt, but not really sure to begin.  I know that I have several accounts, but none of them are on credit reports that I can pull and all of been sold and resold so many times that I have no idea who has the accounts at this point.  I have very little original paperwork .  How do I go about finding what these accounts are?  Most of them have a DOFD of 1999-2001, so they are pretty old.  The only one I know of for sure is actually still on my credit report that I can pull, but it is showing up as a positive, so I am just leaving it alone.  How can pay these debts back without killing my score which is in the 750 range?
