I have been trying for several month to get a loan for a new home, but I have had no success at all. Everybody that I contact or apply with give me the same answer all the time, which is ” Sorry we can’t help you at this time due to your poor credit rating. If no one will give you a chance then how can you fix your credit situation? I have been employed for the past five years with the same company. I don’t make a whole lot a year. I make about $ 40,000 a year. I think I can afford a new mortgage. I would like for my children to grow up in a better situation than I did. I admit I have made some mistakes financially, but are those mistakes going to haunt me forever? I just want a chance to live the American dream of home ownership. Please don’t mention credit repair, I have tried those companies and my credit sitiuation is was worse after I finished the repair program. If you do not have positive input please don’t respond to this question. Rip-off artist need not respond.

I have been working very hard on getting my credit straightened out. The first thing I did was to start paying on defaulted student loans. They have been out of default and are in good standing for about 6 months now. My problem is, even though they show up on my credit reports as good, the old negative stuff is still there too making it look like I have some good and some bad loans. I have 4 for the Department of Ed and 2 Sallie Mae, so there are 6 good and 6 bad showing on my CR. Is there any trick to getting these bad ones deleted? I have had a credit repair law firm cleaning up my CR with absolute great success except for these items. I am getting ready to dump this law firm now that my file seems to be more manageable, and do it myself. I have enjoyed the convenience of having someone else do my work for me but it is time I take over and I want to be able to get these duplicate loans that show balances and lates off of my CR. How should I proceed?
I started the credit repair process today and thought i should start a log so here goes. Today I sent out a gw letter for first premier for a paid charge off even though it seems as there are not alot of people who have had success with them, a pfd to suncoast schools fcu, and cmrrr dv letters to continental finance, pinnacle financial group, and online collections. Also if anyone wants to chime in im wondering why my equifax could be so low the accts on there are as follows:
Â
Â
Paid auto loan no missed payments (5800)
Paid as agreed lease (2340 a month for 2,5yrs)
5 credit cards no more than 7%balances (had 3 cards for 2yrs and other 2 for 1yr)
paid student loan no missed payments(the loan was only 6000)
auto loan pays as agreed(just got truck 1 yr ago)
paid charge off for $200 (2 yrs since dola)
collection $634 (dola 12/2006 just started reporting 2/2010)
charge off for original balance of $1443 ( i have paid off $500 since it was charged off.also it reports as open)
Â
In 2005 I started my credit repair and for the last 4 and 1/2 years everything has been great…..I even bought a house in 2009…….So today i get an email from my credit monitoring service and I see that a previously deleted entry was added back to Experian….It was a $75 Medical Bill from 2006; PARAGON REVENUE GROUP is the collector however I dont recall if they were the original collector.

Anybody have any advice as to what I should do??
Has anyone gone through this company for credit repair? My wife and I just signed up after getting a break on the cost. Our scores are in the mid to upper 500s and we’re hoping to get above a 650 to get both a new vehicle we need and a house within the next 1-2 years.
Â
Â
Just a note: I’m not promoting any company on here, I just wanted to know if anyone went through this company and what the outcome was. I apologize in advance if I violated the rules by asking this.
Hello,
Â
My question is, I’m trying to get my credit scores up. at the moment I have Eq;589 , Tr” 610. Ex: 640, I have a lot of old negative accounts mostly 5 to 6 years old such as charge offs and collections. Should I pay those off or wait until they fall off the reports?
Hi. Quick introduction: my credit repair began in July of this year after being tired of dreaming about buying a house. Being 30 years old, and a renter, made me realize I needed to do something. So I did. I first signed up for a credit repair company to fix my problems, and within the first month, I cancelled. I should have done some research BEFORE signing up, but oh well…can’t change that now. I have been semi successful in the last 3 1/2 months. I’ve had several “popular” CA’s removed, so I hope I will be able to help with what I have done.
Â
I would like to recap what I have remaining on my 3 credit reports and what my plan is for each one, and maybe if one of you has some additional advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I am not sure if I can post the CA’s names or not, so for now I will be safe and “hide” them.

I have one secured CC that I opened last month, currently at $450 credit limit, plan on increasing when I can until it’s at $1000
When I began, my FICOs were in the LOW 500′s. I’m in the mid 500′s now. I have had ALOT removed, but most were old accounts.
Â
So if anyone has any advice for me, I would sure appreciate it!
Â
Hi, I am new to the board. I was thinking about contacting a credit repair specialist but stumbled accross this forum and wanted to see if anyone had some ideas for me.I am planning on buying a house in FEB(5 months) and I am trying to get my score as high as possible before then. My score was climbing nicely then a few months ago it stopped at 666 and hasn’t moved. Here are the detailes:
Â
Banckruptcy: discharged 2 years ago AUG(no late payments since)
Forclosure: JAN 2008(will be 3 years old by FEB)
3 installment accounts(only owe a couple hundred on 2 of them, $8,000 on car loan)
1 credit card($4,500 limit, always stay under 30%, usually at 0 balance)
Â
Should I pay off the 2 installment accounts now or drag them out until after I apply for a mortgage? Should I apply for another CC or is it too late? Does anyone have any other ideas?
Â
Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thank you.
Â
Jake
