Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding 30 day lates. I have an installment loan that is reporting 30 Day Lates from 2008. I know for a fact, even confirmed with a CSR at the lender, that the payments were NOT 30 days late. The payments were late, but not anymore the 15-20 days.

Do they have the right to report this as a 30 day late?

I have the statements showing the dates of payments, can I dispute this with the CRAs?

I always see people here advise NOT to dispute matters directly with the CRAs. Can someone please explain the reasoning for this advice so I can better understand? Also, usually the advice is accompanied by mention of the automated system the CRAs use… therefore, would it be better to dispute with the CRAs in writting via a letter?

Thanks!

I have just read about the automated process the CRAs use with EOscar and the OCR computers. Is it really  more effective to handwrite your dispute letter instead of typing and printing it out?

Is it worth the time to write out?

I understand using this protection for debt collectors. But is this really necessary for dealing with the CRAs?

Greetings Fico Community-

I  think I may have had success with an e-mail GW letter to  Midland (PAID COLLECTION) by contacting the CEO of their parent company!!!!! Thanks to months of snooping around the FICO forums!1:smileyhappy: (THANKS!!)

**Please PM me for the e-mail contact**

His reply was short and simple but I imagine that the “compliance department’ would be the one whom handle deletions from the CRAs.??

Below is his reply in a cut and paste:

Mr. F********,

I will forward to our Compliance team.  I expect they will respond tomorrow.  If you don’t hear from them, let me know.

Best Regards,

(Name Removed for Security)

I originally contacted them in June 2010 (with no response) regarding an old PAID collection which was still reporting as 9 baddies (Judgements and Collections!!!) b/w all the CRAs.. When I received no reply, I recently re-fowarded the e-mail and asked politely for the contact to advise.

I have also pestered Midland with numerous phone calls within the last few months. Getting shotdown with the typical ‘we don’t do deletions for paid or setteled accounts.. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a deletion with my GW response!!!*********:smileytongue:

Questions posted below:

  • Will  re-post with the results, have  any of you ahad a similar experience with Midland and their compliance department?
  • Does this mean I will receive the deletion request due to an actual response and the referral to compliance?
  • Will My FICO see a jump from having these baddies deleted? (I have read mixed results from having CA info removed)
  • Once the deletion is granted, how long will it take to hit my ScoreWatch Product and see the results on My FICO score?

Someone please advise on whether this has the makings of success!!.

Regards,

I recently disputed 2 negative TL’s with all three CRA. My Citi had 1 60 day and my Chase had 1 30 day and 1 60 day.  The disputes are still pending however I called both Chase and Citi and both agreed to remove the negative notices. Should I cancel my disputes with the CRAs or just let them go through?  I dont want to dispute something that they are agreeing to take care of and I’m nervous it’s going to mess everything up.

Advice please!

So I have a medical collection that is reporting on my CRAs. I contacted the CA this morning to negotiate a PFD and they agreed. However, they informed me that I have another medical collection account with them, but IT is NOT reporting to the CRAs. She says its back from 2000-2004. She informed me that it could possibly be reported to the CRAs after today because I’ve been notified of it. But, from my understanding, these accts have passed the SOL and they aren’t allowed to report them any longer, hence the reason they have not been reported in the past. And I’m in the Great State of Texas, so they are not allowed to send collections letters to me anyway.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Has anyone had success removing Credit Control Corp from their CRs??

My situation sucks. I had an old cable bill from Cox from 2007. Credit Control Corp of course listed it as TWO separate accounts on my CRs (one for cable and one for the bill).

I thought that if I paid Cox directly I could dispute with CCC and have them remove it. I was wrong. They are now showing up as paid. I sent GW letters to the higher ups at Cox and had the matter looked into for me. After several days of deliberation they declined to have the two entries removed.

I also tried to dispute with the CRAs and they all came back verified.

I am really bummed out. What should I do?
