I just called in and settled an account that’s been delinquent since 2009 for 50%. It’s just been updated on my CR with $0 balance and shows status as Paid – Less than full balance. I thought this would raise my score, however, my score dropped 30 points.

Is this normal? Is this what I keep hearing about rebucketing?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hey all,

I am writing a DV letter for a Collection that we found on my wife’s CR, and we have no idea what it could be.  She has perfect credit….until this.  Could you please take a look at this letter and let me know what you think.

Dear sir/Madam,

I am sending this letter with a Certified Mail, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, to ensure that you properly receive this letter.

I pulled my credit report, and I discovered that you claim that I owe you a debt.  Under § 809 of FDCPA, send me validation of this debt.  Under § 809(b) of FDCPA you must stop all collection efforts, and that includes reporting to the Credit Reporting Agencies.

With Regards,

MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE

I thought that I would keep it very simple.  Any feedback would be great.

Hi, I am trying to really repair credit over the next year.  I have made a lot of progress the past couple of years but still wonder about a few things.

1) I have two credit cards that I now carry a 0 balance on since I learned to pay it off before the report date.  However, I see something in a credit report that says ‘High Balance’ and that is close to my credit limit.  Does this hurt my score, even though at this point my util should be 0 and I have no late payments?

2) I have a few collections on my CR.  The original accounts are tied to bank accounts (not credit card accounts) and one gym account.  I have a few questions about these

 a) I have two CA’s reporting for the same account and haven’t been able to delete one…shouldn’t I be able to?

 b) I have one CA listing a report date as 10/2010 even though the original delinquiency was in 2006.  What can I do about this?

 c) I have been paying down these balances, but is it really helping me credit wise?  I know it won’t delete the CA, but is it being reported as ‘paid’ helpful at all?

 d) I’ve heard of good will and PFD letters, but has anyone had any success with these?

 e) What sort of impact does the fact that these original delinquiencies are all at least 5 years old have?

3) What is scoring impact of loan balances to original amounts?  I have been steadily paying down student loans, but the balances are still fairly high.

Thanks for your help.  I want to handle everything right so that I can get the best possible mortgage when the time comes in about 1-2 years.

I have a few medical bills that are paid, and one that needs paid. So for the one that needs paid i can send a PFD? and if they accept that and i pay it then it will be completely removed from my CR?

On the few i have paid already I can send a GW letter and possibly get it deleted?

I guess i was under the impression once something was on your CR it was on there for a few years

I also owe tmobile $900 from my ex girlfriend. They agreed over the phone to do a PFD. I won’t take their word so I plan on sending in a letter and if they accept this its the same thing as it never happening, It will be completely removed?

Looking for information on how to get CR ( Medical collections) removed from my CR.

Wanting to apply for a mortgage but need to get my fico score raised 70 – 80 points.

any help would be greatly appericated

Hello all!

So with the new year, it is my goal to clean up my CR, raise my FICO score, and eliminate some debt to rebuild.

To do this, I would like to be able to continually pull my CR every few weeks as I send out my challenge letters, PFD letters, etc.

What is the best website to do this at, to where I can have the most pulls for the money from the most CRA’s?

Can someone who has been down this road before guide me to what they did to literally start off, with that first CR pull?

It has been a little over a year since I pulled my CR last from annualcreditreport.com

Thank you.

I recently sent a letter to the plaintiff/OC about a judgment that has been sitting on my CR since ’08.  Surprised as I was to get a reply, they told me that they sent a letter to the court (I now have a copy of this) 2 years ago to cancel the judgment.  I am trying to figure out what I can do about getting this off of my CR.  The debt was paid that year and everything is cleared up.  Should I dispute and send the letter with it?  I’m a little confused about which direction to go.  Thanks!

As a dumb kid (19yrs old) with fairly decent credit, I allowed my mother in law to use my credit to purchase a mercedes (4/2006) with an auto loan from Americredit, it ended up being charged off. Is there anything that I can do legally (with her cooperation) to have this removed from my credit file and perhaps added to hers? Thanks.. It wont be removed from my CR until 5/2013 and I am looking to buy a house next year.. and im sure a charged off auto loan in the amount of 15k wont make the purchase of a house easy at all! thanks for any help you can provide!
