A few weeks ago I sent a PFD letter to ER solutions for an old Sprint bill. Because I didn’t hear back from them, I decided to call. The lady I spoke to said that they
would agree to the PFD and would send it to me in writing. A few days went by and I recieved nothing. This week I received a letter from them that said ” Here is the
info you requested”, which was an actual copy of my sprint bill from Feb. 2008. In the meantime I checked my credit report and the collection had come off my report.Â
Yesterday I finally recieved the letter stating they agree to the PFD and it was dated 7/28/10. ?????? What do I do now?
First off, this forum, even though it’s for the U.S. has been an amazing place to get information and things to try out.
Â
A while back I had an old cellphone bill that randomly doubled and when I asked for an explaination they were unable to provide one. I advised them that unless they could explain it, I would not be willing to pay the amount they were requesting.
Â
They never explained it to me and sent me off to collections, I tried to contact and explain the situation to the agency, but they would have no part of it. A year later I was sent to a new collection agency and issued a statment of claim (being sued). I contacted the agency and immediatly filed a complaint with the BBB. They froze the account and agreed to work with me.
Â
I got them to verbally (my mistake) agree to a pay for delete. I paid them for the original amount owing, not the inflated amount they wanted. I went about my normal business and 6 months later decided to try and get a mortgage. I was shot down on the spot for a collection account on my credit file.
Â
I went home and pulled my reports only to notice the collection had just been listed 7 days before I applied for my mortgage. This really ticked me off.
Â
I wrote a letter to the ombudsman, vp of operations and the collection manager I had delt with and explained how upset I was that they had backed out on their word. Two weeks later, I get a letter from them (see picture) stating they have removed this from my files and closed the account.
Â
I pulled my reports on March 5th, and the account was gone and I got a nice bump from 617 – 631 Transunion, and 648 – 666 Equifax. I can’t say how happy this has made me, especially after hearing from a lot of sources thay pay for deletes do not work at all in Canada.
Â
Guess there’s a first for everything (man did I get lucky).
