Need help with a mortgage problem?

Dec 302011

Here’s my problem, I started buying my first home a few years ago. The company that I financed through sold it at closing to Wells Fargo. I have had nothing but trouble from them, every time I pay over the phone or online I get charged a fee for doing so. I can go to a branch and pay it, but 9 times out of 10 they screw it up one way or another, then I get to battle them on the phone for a few hours. Every time I do this I get told you really shouldn’t go to a branch and pay it, for some oddball reason that changes with each call. I’m not behind on my mortgage, I am late a few times because of the branch issues, but that is usually taken care of. My question In a situation like this would another bank be able to buy out my mortgage and I can pay them, or am I pretty much stuck getting screwed by WF.
Thanks for your answers.
I have tried to set-up a direct draft 4 times now and for some reason it never goes through. I might try to have my bank so it directly. I have worked for WF for a few years in the past, they are pretty shady, kinda hate to be dealing with them again. I don’t have a checking account I usually try to deal with cash only, plus I tend to get my bills a few days before they are do, so I figure there will probably be a problem with getting it in time to not pay a late charge, I’ve been having problem with my mail taking forever at this house not sure why.

I guess one step at a time I’ll check my bank first, then go for the check thing if that doesn’t work.

Again thanks for the answers I’m not sure how to post a reply on this so that’s why I did it like this.

mortgage in a parent’s name but we are included on deed?

Dec 232011

My husband’s parents agreed to use their name for financing a home 4 1/2 years ago. They didn’t put forth any monies as to the down payment or anything pertaining to this home since. We pay the mortgage online through my husband’s and my personal checking account and have done so since 2003 when the home was purchased. Our credit was less than perfect and we knew we would pay an arm and a leg for a 79,000 home. We are, however, on the deed with them. My mother-in-law passed away 2 mths ago and I have since faxed a copy of death certificate to the mortgage company. What happens after my father-in-law passes away?

Do banks have to let you pay at a branch?

Dec 062011

I have a mortgage with national city bank since February of 2006. I have always paid my mortgage at the branch with cash. Now National City bank has been taken over by PNC bank and switched all of there branches. I recently went into the bank to make my last months payment and they told me they would no longer take payments at the branch any longer due to new policies. I’m a little discouraged cause I do not have a checking account nor do I want one. I feel it’s safer to keep my money in a safe. I called the new PNC and was told that the only options I have are doing it online through EFT or mailing a check in. I feel the bank should be obligated to let me pay my mortgage at there bank. Am I wrong at this? Also I do believe there is wording in my mortgage about payment options and paying at a branch is listed.

How can I get a checking account?

Dec 052011

About a year ago my husband opened a checking account with a large bank. He had me go to the bank a few weeks later and do a signature card so that I could cash my child support checks there. I never really did that though. The check cashing place was closer and they only charged $ 2 for the child support checks. I never used the account. I was just on it. Some how he over drew or what ever you call it and now it says he owes them over $ 700! I had nothing to do with it, but I’m afraid to go open an account of my own somewhere, by myself only because I’m afraid they will try to collect it from me and I don’t have that. I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know why the thing was overdrawn and he says he doesn’t either. But I don’t know how to go about getting my own account somewhere even if it is just a savings account which for me would be ok anyway because I don’t really write checks for anything. I always use money orders. I don’t trust banks really but you can’t do anything without a bank account. My son asked me if I wanted to go into a savings account with him but now I would be so embarrassed if it showed up that I am a bad risk or something. I am in my 40s and have paid cash for everything my entire life. No credit cards, loans, or even a mortgage ever. Now what. I just want a place to put my money when I get it to save. Thank you

Does my mortgage lender have the right to view checking account info if I am applying for a loan modification?

Dec 022011

If so… is this common practice for them to ask if I have already supplied them with current check stubs and last years W2′s?

Can a bank take all your personal saving/checking accounts to satisfy a second mortgage?

Dec 022011

Ok, so my friend had a house that had a first and second mortgage. He sold this house in short sale on just the second mortgage as the short sale. The second mortgage became a personal unsecured loan for the remaining amount. A month later the bank sent him a letter saying they will come down on what he owes on the remaining unsecured second if he pays “X” amount by a certain date. So, my friend got an attorney to negotiate a little more and make sure this was handled properly. In the mean time the expiration date passed and the bank took everything my friend had in his checking account and mutual fund account. Yes, it just happens that the unsecured second was in the same bank that he had his checking and mutual fund account. They took everything…even more then what they said they would take as a payoff….way more. Can they do this? Can he get his money back? No where in any letters or paperwork that he signed did he put his personal accounts as collateral or they say his personal accounts are collateral. Is this legal what they did???

rebuilding credit
byMark Lincoln

How does a secured credit card actually work?Me and my husband got into alot of trouble about 8 months ago.I was 7 months pregnant when he was in an accident.Broke his collarbone, and fractured his skull. He was unable to work for about 6 months. We lost almost everything, and our credit is now terrible. Our bank accounts got closed. We are just now starting to get back on our feet.To help us repair our credit, would a secured card be the way to go? Is it even possible to get one without any bank accounts? How do they work? How do you deposit money into them with no back account? Its just horrible right now.We live with my parents, and because of out credit we cant even get our own place now.I dont know what to do. Would this be a way to start getting back on track?Do they report it every month?Does it really help you credit? Please Help, can you give me some information about them? or have any other advice for rebuilding our credit? And what is the best secured card that you know of?Please help
I have never had a credit card. Thats not the issue. We have steady income right now. But our credit is destroyed now. We are trying to rebuild it. We cant even open a checking account because its so bad. So thats not the issue. And no we arent going to charge money we dont have, we just want to rebuild so we can get approved for our own place. We could be out of my parents now, but our credit is stopping us.

chex systems dispute

Feb 102011

Hi all!

I requested my report from chex systems after being denied a checking account and found BofA which was an old checking account I had. Its not showing up on any of my credit reports. So my question is: if I dispute this would I basically be waking the sleeping giant? Or would it just be better for me to DV bank of america?
