My husband just joined Navy Federal last month and I have been working on his credit since January 4. So far, 5 collections removed thanks to the advice on this board

On Wednesday he was just approved for 5K from Navy on his very first credit card. No other company would help him

Don’t give up!!! Navy Rocks

The ultimate goal I have is  purchase and move into a house before the end of this year.  I have broken this path into a couple sections.  First thing I had to start  new trade-lines. When i first  got into financial trouble I cancelled all my cards, even the ones in good standing. Mistake on my part.  I took the credit hit on inquiries and opened 4 new accounts. Two have began reporting, and waiting for the other two. Fingers crossed that the further lowering of my AAoA won’t pull me below 640.

After getting these new lines going I turned to the baddies I had on my reports. I had two charge off’s I PIF, they wouldn’t do PFD’s, so now I will drops $30 in stamps ink and paper GW them to death.lol   I have one last baddie to attack, past the sol and from reading this board very PFD friendly. This will not only remove another derog, but get my utl% from over  %100 to %20.

680′s by Sept So glad i found this site.

Long story short I joined the military in 2006 with an initial credit score of 410. I’ve worked hard reading every post I could from fellow members on the forum. Five years later and a couple deployments I managed to get my TU to 683 and eq to 651. I applied for NFCU flagship and rewards card and was accepted with a 1500 and 5k limit. In addition to that I finally received a discover with 1500 limit and a cap1 with 500. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this board. Although I may never post I do appreciate your help to others Whom had the same issues I had. God bless

Are collections accounts on a credit report counted as “revolving” lines of credit?

2 out of my 3 CRs state that “AMOUNT OWED ON REVOLVING ACCOUNTS IS TOO HIGH” in the section where they provide you with your strengths and weaknesses.

(All in caps just like I quoted it, too :smileysurprised:)

This is peculiar to me because I only have open one small personal loan with a current balance of about 200 dollars.

In fact, it also states (same place) that another negative factor is that I have no open CCs!

What is this madness?  lol

I apologize for peppering this board with so many questions, but I need to get to the bottom of this.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I have 2 CA’s with Zenith Acq. from CapOne accounts that no longer appear on my credit reports.  We want to apply for a mortgage in about a year so I am trying to figure out how to best to handle these.  They look like this on each of my reports:

Date opened – 3/2008

Date reported 6/2008

(This is the same for both)

DOFD 4/2004 and 5/2004, respectively, but as I said the original CapOne accounts have dropped from all three reports, only the collections remain.

How do I get these taken care of without hampering our efforts to prepare for mortgage apps?  I have a 679 (TU), 631 (EQ) and 658 (EX – but this is their “PLUS Score – what is that??)  My husband’s scores are just a bit higher, low 700′s.

I have scoured this board for direction but I am still totally lost.

Thanks!

Hi Forum,

I was taking a good look at this paid/chargeoff/collection from WFNNB/Express that is like a paperweight on my credit score. It being noted as Settled-less than full balance. I was wondering if anyone on the board has had success with having these marks removed from their report? Whats the best way of contacting them? Should I send a GW? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank You

I searched for this but couldnt find any record of the current CCT prices. Following the advice on the board I signed up for CCT so I could get more frequent looks at me CR. The going rate for the service $1 for the 7 day trial, then $22.95 per month there after. If you call up they will offer you a 50% off promotion ($11.47) for 24 months. While its not as good as the $9.95 they used to have its not bad considering you get unlimited CR pulls each month.

Hi guys, first off I would like to thank everyone for all the good advice on this board. It has helped me raise my EQ score from 560 to 603 and TU 559 to 574 in 2 months. I am hoping to purchase my first home in May of 2011. I have 3 charge offs that I have PFD’d, they all are for small amounts, still waiting for a response,  I also have a paid judgment that I would like to get removed but am unsure of how to do it. Any and all advice will be helpful on getting it removed.
