About three years ago, I refinanced my parents’ home, partially for a better interest rate, but also to get away from the practices of Bank of America.
Approximately two months ago BOA, bought-up my mortgage company, and I am once again back to the forces of evil.
Then I read this article in the LA Times;

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-bank-america17-2009oct17,0,4906039.story

The “convince” fees alone have made me start shopping again.

Can someone please tell me why we would allow a company to operate like this? The government, ok, maybe, but a taxpayer financed Privet Company?

I am currently a college student with 2 checking accounts (Wamu- 3 years & BOA- 1 year) and 1 credit card (Citi- 1 year). I have always met the requirements for my checking accounts and paid all my credit card bills on time. As for loans, I do have about $ 10,000 of student loans in debt. I was wondering if it is okay for me to get another credit card. Also, many say that having a lot of credit cards are bad for you. What is the reccomendation of how many bank accounts and credit cards should I have so that my credits would not go down? Thanks in advance!

Wow I am in schock  I just got approved for a used car loan from Penfed for $6000.  I also called BOA they unsecure my secured card with a $1000 credit limit.  I am soo happy.  I guess hard work pays off.

H everyone, it’s been awhile since I have been on here but I need help and I know you all know what to do.

I received a call today from Creditors Interchange for a BOA acct,$2600 debt. The lady asked for me and then basically proceeded to tell me I needed to pay or she would be sending my acct to the attorney and I would be responsible for all court costs and interest. She never said a debt disclaimer, and at one point I had to ask her where she was calling from because she never told me. She said she could take $1500 and that was all. She refused to do arrangements since she said BOA would not allow her to. I told her that being my husband just lost his job this week, there was no way I could come up with the $$.

She then proceeded to ask me if we still had our mortgage through Citimortgage-I’m assuming she was looking at my CR and when I told her yes, she told me “well I see you have equity in your home, we can come after that.” She then asked me if I was employed and when I told her I was, she said that she would contact my work. When I told her that she could not do that, she said she would not call my work but would be contacting my payroll department today.

Is there anything I can do about this harrassment? I am going to send a DV but funny, I haven’t even received a letter from CI yet. I told the CA this and she said she mailed it today, yeah right.

So I guess my question is, what can I do? I don’t want them to call my employer but I don’t want to make them too mad. I’m afraid if I send them a cease and desist letter this will really piss them off and they will be more likely to send it to court. This particualr CA is really brutal from what I have read.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

A little over a year ago I finished paying off my BOA (MBNA) student card that I defaulted on in college.I subsequently opened two rebuilder cards: Orchard and Secured Public Savings. Orchard is now 13 months old and Public Savings is 10 months old. My credits scores as of May 2010 were EQ 707 and TU 685. I havent applied for anything since last September and have two inquiries that will both fall off later this year. My issue is my rebuilder cards are aging but I know I dont want them around forever. Im thinking of applying for a BOA or CITI card since my scores have improved over the last year and change. Should I wait longer ? Is t a good time to apply? Are my scores good enough to not waste an app just to be denied? The only other thing on my CR is my 1 year old car loan that only reports to EQ. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

filed for bankrupcy a few years ago. have been paying my morgage but did not want my taxes included. wanted to pay myself. just found out that BOA has been paying my taxes. the tax bill went to them. i am now looking at paying back BOA for these taxes. they want another 2,000.00 more than i can afford. my budget would leave me with 175.00 for the whole mth. i have a sick child who is on meds and is now in school and doing much better. i now am looking at losing my home due to this tax bill. is there another way for me to talk to BOA and work something out so we can keep our home. i have a lawyer but he says he can only do what he can and that i need to talk to BOA> did that and found out i cant talk to BOA because i have a lawyer. i have applyed for a modifcation , was told i do not meet the programs they have. does anyone know what programs are out there for me to question BOA on this modifcation? and what the laws are on having a sick child that may help me with talking to BOA. any info will be great.

I have 2 collection accounts listed on my TU CR that I would like to have removed. I have been rebuilding my credit for about 3 years now and on my way to a 700+ score. I went from 592 about 1 year ago to 679 right now. What would be my first step in trying to get them removed?

1 – Collection from Wisconsin Public Service (utility) assigned to Americollect for $212. Assigned 5/23/07 and PIF on 1/17/08. “Payment after CO/collection”

2 – Collection from BOA assigned to NCO Financial on 1/4/06 for $60 and PIF 7/24/06. “Payment after CO/collection”

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am not sure how to write a goodwill letter, what it should say? I would like to have my lates on my BOA card removed and I was told writing a GW letter may work, but I am not to sure as to what it should say. Also I am not good at write letters, so any pointers would be oh so helpful. Thank You So Much.

Okay, so I had a BAO credit card that was charged off, it went to a CA & then it went to a law firm & then they garnished my check.  It’s now paid.  The BOA credit card as of last week has fallen off my TU & Equifax report.  Is there anyway I can get the judgement removed?  Who would I have to contact?  It’s affecting my score b/c it’s recent w/i the past 2 years & of course the more bad things I can get removed the better.  This is they only thing negative on my Equifax report other than that it’s a clean report.  I’m still working on the other two.

I have a CO from Chase now owned by EAF, its for $1866. It first went to collections 6/2009. My BOA visa has a balance of $1100, and is currently open and up to date. Which should I pay off first, and which would net me a higher fico bump? Should I PFD the CO?
